    Thanks Matt!

Seattle went 5-1 hosting Denver (3-0) and Pawtucket (2-1). Washington continues to keep pace for HFA going 8-2 in their last 10, same as the Pilots.

Down in the minors the Seattle affiliates lost in Triple-A but won in both Double-A and Single-A. The RL squad clinched a wild card birth despite a poor final week.

League Reminder: This is the last sim to add players to your 40-man roster for them to be playoff eligible. Also keep an eye on players you put on the 60-day DL who will be healthy soon. They need to be placed back on the 40-man before Friday's sim to be playoff eligible.

5-1 for the Bats. A 3-game sweep at Carolina followed by winning 2/3 over New Orleans. We've been good on the road this season, our 45-21 mark away from home is the best in the league. Usually I'd say that finishing the year with a bunch of home games would help us, but we've been better away from DC.

We had several standouts at the plate this week, with 6 regulars finishing with OPS' over 1.000. Somewhat surprisingly, it wasn't that great of a week offensively, a really feast or famine type of week from my hitters. Rory Smith continues to have a big year and is on pace to break the Bats' record for home runs in a season in what will likely be his last year in Washington.

On the mound, Pat Arballo is rolling right now - 4-0, 0.46 ERA in August. Hoon Park threw 8 shutout innings in this second start on the team. We're still pitching well, though Batavia has taken the top spot in fewest runs allowed since they stopped giving up runs or losing games a couple months ago.

We are finishing with the first or second overall pick but with so many of our AAA guys now up, I still monitor their improvement, of course.

This is the first sim where so many guys seemed to perform.

We claimed 24-year-old Tyrese Coleman from Carolina. Though he wasn't one of their heralded young prospects, we felt he was mostly bumped out of necessity, not potential. Finally, he's starting to look like it. 2 home runs, 7 RBI last week. August:
          .344 .394 .639

24-year-old Rod Mason was part of the McCullough trade. Like his power and eye potential. Took him a bit but finally doing more than just hitting home runs and nothing else. Hit 2 home runs with 3 doubles last week.

25-year-old Norm Hughes was part of the Manabu Hamada trade to Philadelphia. Been a slow start but he's picked up the power as of late. August slash:
          .305 .333 .484

Dave Pierce is our 23-year-old catcher that we took in the 2nd round in 2028. He lit up AAA in 2033 and was doing it again in 2034. It was time. He stumbled hard and was barely over .200 in a month and a half. Finally in August he's turned the corner. .389, One home run, 2 doubles last week. Coming around.

Just nice to see some of these guys starting to produce and get comfortable. They won't help us win this year but I think we are finally going to catch some wins in 2035 thanks to them and the future pipeline of players.
