Seattle gets taken to the cleaners by the power that is the almighty Stout Division. Won the first game 2-1 in the 10th against DC, then lost the next two 2-4, 6-7. Then Batavia swept us, in Seattle, 1-5, 1-2 and 1-3. This team really needs Jimmy Jeffs to come back. He has back stiffness and remains day to day for an unknown period of time. I could force him to play but keep reminding myself it's a marathon and not a sprint.

The Pilots are now 1/2 a game back of Windy City for the Bock after the 1-5 week. August will be an important month around the league and I'm hopeful to stay within a game or two of the Bock lead. I will likely go full 40 in September which might steal us a game or two down the stretch. But Windy City isn't going to fade and Phoenix has been red hot (7-3) with trade addition SP Enrique Bernardi leading the way.

Down in the minors we lost top prospect SP Danny Ley to a hamstring strain, and he will miss the rest of the minor league season. DFA is clear (minus SP DJ Matern who is on irrevocable waivers), moved a ringer up from Single-A before age cuts and we are ready to go.
