A third straight 4-2 sim puts the Pilots at 26-30, five games back in the Bock and three games back in the Wild Card. It appears we are finally catching the breaks we weren't getting the first six weeks. Against Batavia we won 1-0 with a Matt Barone 2-out HR in the 9th. Later we beat California 7-3 in the 11th after getting two in the bottom of the 8th to force extras followed by giving up a run in the 11th. The defense is still terrible, the backend of the rotation a mystery and veteran hitters (Jeffs, Wright, McClelland) struggling, but somehow we are making ground.

Down in Single-A former 1st round pick Dave Shetler is struggling. Drafted 21st overall in 2028 after a senior season where he hit 41 HRs in 40 games, Shetler so far has played 42 games and has.... zero home runs. In fact, in 333 games in Rookie League and Single-A, the 22-year-old has 20 home runs total.
