I’ll make my picks quicker if y’all stop pretending you’re not interested in any of my players

Quick recap of the Bats picks (the ones worth mentioning anyway. So, probably none?):

1.23 - 1B Blake Hartman - I don't like taking a 1B this early, but my scout and OSA both like this guy and I felt he was the best hitter on the board. He won the Outstanding Hitter award last season, and hasn't been too far off that pace this year, particularly after a "slow" start. He should be solid fielder at 1B, at least and isn't too bad on the basepaths.

2.23 - SP Zak Stewart - He's actually the #1 name on my scout's draft list. So, almost certainly a complete bust. Two seasons ago, he was the runnerup for Outstanding Pitcher in our high school league, but he's struggled with injuries since then, including a torn rotator cuff last year. But, my scout really likes his potential and he's been really productive when he's on the mound. Hopefully he's got three pitches good enough to start.

3.12 - C Tommy Barger - Hopefully I'm set at catcher for the foreseeable future, but Barger was the top player on my board by a decent margin. Both my scout and OSA agree that he should be a solid hitter and he'll be ok behind the plate defensively. Good gap power, which should fit well in my park. I really wanted the guy who went one spot earlier (Kinoshita), so this wasn't exciting.

3.23 - RP Griffin Downing - OSA really like him. My scout kind of does, but not to that extent. He appears to be a complete asshole, so the rest of the team can bond around how much the dislike him. He's been really good in our high school league and carried a 0.64 ERA into his last outing of the season, which went terribly.

My scout really liked this guy. So there's that.

Good write up Liquid. I liked Stewart but with my recent trend of having pitchers become injury prone, I stayed away. If he was college level, I probably take him a few picks before you.

                      SEATTLE PILOTS QURAFT REVIEW
                      1 21 3B Alan Gerber
                      2 14 SP Dave Larson
                      2 21 CL Isaac Stewart
                      4 19 SP Eli Howard
                      5 19 SP Julian Bastow
                      6 4 CF Cole Merritt
                      7 4 RF Sanford Marquez
                      7 21 CL Trenton Yearwood
                      8 21 SP Zachary Kruta
                      9 21 SS George Persall
                      10 21 RF Harper Kirby
I was really busy at the start of the draft so I don't have any idea where I would have "ranked" Gerber in regards to other prospects. However, his talent seems like he could have been a Top 10 pick or so. My scout has him as one of three 70s on contact (Kenny Powell and Joseph Gareau the other two) and OSA has him rated that high as well. My scout and OSA also have him an 80 on arm, and while he doesn't appear to have a ton of power, speed, positional flexibility and has his fair share of errors, I was really pleased to grab him at 21 overall. He's got low leadership but a two-time All-Star who is durable. Next on my draft list at that pick was RP Mason Osbourne who went one pick later.

Larson is a RHSP from HS who doesn't really jump out at you in terms of his ratings or his stats, but my scout liked him slightly better than OSA, he throws six pitches and is hitting 92MPH after two velocity bumps since March. He had two week long injuries but was an All-Star this year. Next on my list was SP Quince Meija who went five picks later.

Stewart is a RHRP from HS who has the highest GB% in the draft. He's side arm, only hits 89 MPH right now and has low stamina. He also has so-so intangibles with low intelligence and loyalty. But I think he has a pretty good shot to be a BLB RP down the road. One injury. Gout. Next on my board was SP Zack Stewart and/or CL Grayson Kinoshita.

Howard is a LHSP from CCBL. My scout likes his movement and control a lot better than OSA, while OSA thinks he has three plus pitches. High stamina. Durable. I actually didn't see him until a few picks before I was on the clock. One time All-Star. Had a 6-hit shutout. Next on my board was SPs Sean Carroll and Jakob Drobot who went shortly there after.

Bastow is a RHSP from NCAA who my scout and OSA think is a bum. However, I think if this was a stats-only league, he might have gone much higher. He posted a 3.9 WAR in 21 starts. Was an All-Star. Had a 15K game. Had a separate 5-hit shutout with 12Ks. He also threw a gem in the playoffs. Next on my board was OF Dakari Walker.

Merritt, Marquez, Yearwood, Kruta, Persall and Kirby were all on the top 20 of my boar from the 6th-10th round. Which really goes to show that at that point, it's anyone's guess. There were a few players I wanted that got picked in between those rounds but nothing I was too upset about. I know Wilmington took a hitter who looks like he could be a great pitcher... 1B Ellis Bush. He was one of my sleeper picks that got away.
