I'm not sure if I have any "locks" at this point, but Joe Chav, Romano Gonzo andPete Summers will all probably make it.

          Grandon, Stewart.

Not sure how strong the IL OF'ers are this year... so if they are weak, I'd throw Lanbin in there as well.

Escarcagga deserves a look despite his 5-4, 3.16 ERA, 10 QS in 13 starts, and a 20 VORP.

That's about it in California... Tough year for sure.

For my team I think I have possible starters in:

SS Arnier Tafur: Great numbers for a SS, Arnier has been a force this year.
            http://www.simgamingnetwork.com/blb/...ayer_2746.html

SP Joe Gauina: Don't have to say much about him, he's been a stud. The question remains whether we stay in contention long enough for him to finish the season with us if he continues his refusal to resign with us.
            http://www.simgamingnetwork.com/blb/...layer_814.html

CL Eric McCoy: This guy has been dominate. Didn't allow a run in April. Has only allowed 5 since, and he's on pace to rack up 51 saves. Also touts an ERA south of 2.

Maybe these guys will be reserves:

MR Dave Klaus - Guy doesn't have GREAT numbers, but he's been valuable to us, so I'll pimp him.
            http://www.simgamingnetwork.com/blb/...ayer_1869.html

LF Ernsto Adron - Probably won't make the team, but after Tafur, he's made the offense go for this team.

Virginia should probably get Harcourt (possible starter)... Magness (unless he implodes in the next couple sims)... Poling (reserve).... probably make a case for Carlton and maybe McSwain in the pen... Danny Nelson is quietly having a nice year as well.

              I'd call Harcourt a lock.

Magness 1 win away from a lock. 10 wins should at least make the team I figure.

Poling will probably battle Grandon for the backup 3B spot... their numbers are almost identical.

Buzzell has to be a lock...O'Connelan, Delclos, and Sato are possibilities.

Woodbury's having the best year of his injury-filled career. He should be a lock, as well as Newlin at shortstop.

Alsina and Irvin have a shot as well.

Vincent Nino will be starting at 3B for the IL.

Other than that, I expect a pitcher from my team to make it, but I can't say any are locks.

Leonel Tesina has to be a lock at 2B in the DL.

Gagne might get a shot, but probably doesn't have enough wins.

Seagarra could be selected by a manager, but 1B is a tough position to make an All-Star team, especially your first.

I'm sure there's a more productive 3B in the DL than Zamarida but perhaps he's there as a backup.

Dave Balloun for DL OF! .288/.367/.833 OPS.

He's got a robust 20.6 VORP and really is the only guy on my squad who has a reasonable chance of going. He shouldn't be a starter but I think he's absolutely in play for a backup spot. I want a rep this year :)

Andrew, I know you want him on the team :)

I'll take it back. I haven't paid much attention but I looked and there's no way Zamarida makes the team as a reserve unless he can climb out of that 2nd place tie amongst 3B in homruns and also drive in a bunch of more runs.

Seagarra isn't even listed at 1B. But, I think it's cool. Good to know that you have to qualify at the position. He's played half the season as a DH.

How can we tell who is listed? Is the voting an in-game deal this season and has it started yet?

Z, since you are the manager for the IL this year... I hope you will take a look at the players I'm presenting as worthy for the All-Star game.

                              They are:

Mark Steward- 2B- rankings for IL 2B (rankings for ALL of IL)
1st in AVG. (2nd in all of the IL)
2nd in OBP. (8th in all of the IL)
2nd in SLG. (6th in all of the IL)
2nd in OPS. (5th in all of the IL)
2nd in VORP. (8th in all of the IL)
                              2nd in HR.
                              4th in Runs.
2nd in Isolated power. (8th in all of the IL)
                              4th in XBH.
                              3rd in Total Bases.

While its clear that Harcourt deserves the nod at 2nd. I think its also clear that Steward is the second best 2B in the IL this year and is worthy of making a trip to the 1985 All-Star game. In fact, it's also clear that Steward has been one of the top 8 players in all of the IL this year. He in my mind deserves your attention as a backup for the IL

Alberto Grandon- 3B- rankings for IL 3B (rankings for all of IL)
2nd in AVG. (8th in all of the IL)
                              4th in OBP.
2nd in SLG. (5th in all of the IL) (7th in the BLB)
3rd in OPS. (8th in all of the IL)
                              3rd in VORP.
3rd in Hits. (5th in all of the IL)
1st in 2B. (3rd in all of the IL) (5th in the BLB)
                              T-1st in 3B.
3rd in HR. (8th in all of the IL)
2nd in RBI. (3rd in all of the IL) (4th in the BLB)
                              2nd in Runs.
2nd in Isolated Power. (7th in all of the IL)
1st in XBH. (1st in the IL) (2nd in the BLB)
2nd in Total Bases. (3rd in the IL) (4th in the BLB)

While not as strong a case as Steward's... Grandon also deserves to go on the strength of his excellent season to date.

So, Z, please consider Mark Steward and Alberto Grandon for the 1985 IL All-Star team.
