Phew, I got all levels down to 25 (plus players on the DL). I really like this part of the season because I definitely make some gutsy calls on some call-ups.

Can't wait to see my new players perform. My AAA rotation, for the first time in an eternity, has two arms that I can potentially see in my rotation some time in the near future. These call-ups had the biggest impact of hurting the competitiveness of my AA squad but my A and AAA squads got better.

      Can't wait for tomorrow's sim!

        Carolina Tobs
        6-1 sim; 2-0 @ Davenport, 2-0 vs Windy City, 2-1 @ Los Alamos

        The Good
-Vincent Nino was named IL Player of the Week, hitting .433 with 3 HRs and 14 RBI. He now leads the IL in HR (17) and RBI (59) and is on pace for a huge year.
-Angelo Opio had his best week of the season, hitting .375 with 1 HR and 7 RBI. Hopefully this is a sign he's over the injury that had him out for the first month.
-The whole lineup hit pretty well, including Grajeda (.433), Lance (.400), Joy (.348) and Ochoa (.348). We're gonna win a lot of games if our big bats keep doing that.
-Joe Ponte is having his best season since 1981. He's off to an 8-2 start with a 2.29 ERA and 1.07 WHIP. Is he back to the level we saw when he won back to back Pale Ale Pitchers, or is this just a fluke?

        The Bad
-Ezequiel Parongao lost his 3rd consecutive start, and was hit hard for the second time in a row. He was responsible for our only 'L' this week.
-Will Porter has cooled considerably since his hot start. We need him to pick it back up and get on base for the middle of our lineup.

        The Ugly
-Nothing too bad here this week. We went 6-1 vs our division rivals and increased our lead to 8 games over Davenport, 12 over Windy City and Los Alamos. Still a lot of baseball left, but we're happy with our position at this point.

I would like to point out that Jeff Franklin is now a lovely 1-2, with a 6.5 ERA in three games against California this year.

The Kodiaks welcome Mr. Franklin to pitch against us as much as he wants...
