It's a tradition...
CF Larry Fitzsymoms
Fitz is the #7 prospect in the Bats organization and the 99th overall prospect in the BLB. Acquired from Carolina in 1983 in exchange for OF Chicho Ochoa. He has hit .300+ every season in the minors since 1981. This year, his second season in Triple-A, he is hitting .309 with a .386 OBP and .813 OPS. He is an excellent CF and an above average base stealer. Oh, and he is a switch-hitter. To make room for him in center fielder, Michio Nago will move to right field, where the coaching staff is more confident in his abilities.
2B Bob Burleson
Bob is the #13 prospect in the Bats organization. The 24-year-old was originally drafted in 1980 by the Hartford Whalers. That off-season he was signed by the Bats organization and has played very well ever since. This season, Bob is hitting .302 with a .827 OPS, his second in Triple-A. He can field 1B and 2B very well, and is a doubles machine. He will not start at the BLB level right now, but was called up because he had nothing left to prove in the minors. Hopefully he provides a spark off the bench.
