Well... Mike Morla hit a home run in his first at bat of the season, and then the season went all down hill after that...

We're off to a 5-1 start in Washington. Took 2 of 3 in Philadelphia before sweeping Phoenix in our first home series. The Freedom decided to really let their bullpen soak up the innings this week, which helped our cause.

The pitching led the way for us this week, as we allowed just 15 runs in our 6 games. Great starts from Arballo and Van Westen while Fenton Soto looked great in the 9th inning. We didn't do a whole lot at the plate, but managed to do just enough to grind out some wins.

We welcome Mike Morla to DC this week before heading off to Baltimore to face the always tough Bulldogs. Hopefully we can keep up the winning.

4-3 against Denver/New York... I'll take it. Considering our "ace" FA import Pat Goldsmith went 0-2 (8.74 ERA), we scored just 19 runs (11th in the IL despite playing SEVEN games), 1/2 of our infield on the DL (Nakayama, Daniel) and the quality of opponents on the road, Seattle was lucky to even win a game.

The stars of the sim were the bullpen (1.11 ERA, 24.1 IP, both 2nd in BLB) and the defense (.729 EFF, 2nd in IL). Free-Agent lefty specialist C.J. McCarthy pitched in five of the seven games and leads the BLB with three Holds. I do expect both to be a strength this year but still encouraging this early.

            LEAGUE REMINDERS:
-Minor leagues start this week at AAA, AA and A. Still some teams without set depth charts.
-Check out the waiver wire as there are 59 players currently available for claim.

            Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-
            Seattle Pilots- 2017-2041
            Washington Bats - 1979-2013

3-2 for the Bulldogs and we’ll take the winning sim while we can.

Our most notable showings in the first week have been by SS Jonathan Valenti and by 25 year old team captain, Bruno Damours. Valenti won the IL DD Award at SS in 2029 but followed it up with a dud of a year in 2030. Damours has failed to replicate his 2028 IL DD Award winning performances in the following two seasons, but we hope both guys are ready to bounce back in spectacular fashion.

Pawtucket 2-3. Our usual two week road trip to start the year.

Having plenty of money, time to take a crack at waivers.

How the hell did 1B Jaylin Richardson sneak thru waivers? Thought we had rules to prevent this so everyone gets a crack at these guys?

We used to move the DFA time up to 21 days so teams couldn't do that. I thought the game placed everyone on the 40 man on the active roster or something to that sort though after ST. Looks like just a few teams did it on a day that was midway though when ST2 took place.

I guess move the DFA back to 21 days during ST?
