If 3B Johnny Berry can squeeze out 1 more HR in the last month of the season, Philly will have 9 batters with double digit HR on the season. Has to be a club record.

4-2 week for the Bats, winning both series. As has been the case for a couple months, that's not good enough to keep Philly from gaining another game on us in the division race. It looks like it's going to come down to the wire, when we play them in the final week of the season. Thankfully those 4 games are in DC, but it'd be nice to put some distance between us before then.

Our star at the plate this week was the same guy its been all year, 3B Rory Smith. He hit .400 with 9 RBI this week, adding to an already really good year for our second year player. Josh Allen also had a nice week and it'd be great to see him finally start playing like he's capable. Robby James played well, he's been a nice surprise.

On the mound, Tomio Ono had two good starts and got 2 wins to show for it. Pat Arballo threw another complete game.

We head out on the road this week, at Denver and then at New York. It's a tough week but we need to keep winning. With rosters expanded, I've called up #90 prospect Jamie Waldron. He hit .390 in A last year and .339 in AA this year. My scout assures me that he can hit RH pitching, and that will be his role down the stretch for us.

        Thanks Matt!

5-1 week for Seattle, beating Denver 2-1 and then sweeping the Bulldogs in Baltimore, #LeftyMyth. Unfortunately, we did have a serious injury losing flame-thrower RP Pat Reeves for 13+ months. The timing sucks as I would have definitely put another RP on the 40-man had this happened a week prior. But thems the breaks.

LEAGUE REMINDER: Teams are running out of time to re-sign minor leaguers. If you had a minor leaguer who is unwilling to re-sign to a minor league deal, remember you can place them on your 40 man roster (or active) and they will receive a $280k salary for three seasons. This is a good alternative than letting a minor leaguer you want to keep walk for free.

In major retirement news, Geoff Yonke called it quits. He's been on my AAA roster all year, but I was going to call him up for some final at bats in DC. Yonke is one of the best hitters in BLB history and probably the best position player I've ever had.

          Career highlights:

          3x Stout Slugger (2020, 2021, 2024)
          11x All Star
          11x Designated Driver
          3x DWI winner

He finished in the top 4 in WAR in 11 consecutive seasons from 2016 to 2026. Led the league in OBP 6 times. He won a batting title. Finished with a career line of .305/.390/.467 (.857 OPS) despite playing most of his career in a pitchers park, while being a good defensive SS and very good 2B. Yonke retires in 5th place on the career WAR list, with 113.4.

Yonke never won a title, but it's not his fault. He upped his game in the postseaon, with a .973 career OPS in those games.

According to math wizards, we should have 74 wins.

no one wants to see that rotation in the playoffs.
