6-1 week for the Bats send us to the top of the Power Rankings. There were a bunch of close games, but we swept Windy City and took 3/4 from Philadelphia, all home games for us.

Stories for the first two weeks:

Our starting rotation has been the best in the BLB so far. 2.21 ERA from that group, with Theisen and Arballo looking like top players. Payette had a short outing due to injury in his first start but was excellent over 8 innings in his return. The bullpen has been a different story. We're last in bullpen ERA. Somehow we're still 4-1 in one-run games, but the bullpen isn't helping our cause at all right now. Hopefully that will improve, as I claimed Alex Salazar on waivers this week. I should get Tom Wood and BJ Johnson back from injury in the next week hopefully, so those 3 will be a a big boost out there.

The lineup has been good as well. We're only 4th in the IL in runs scored, but we lead in AVG, OBP and SLG, so the potential is there for plenty of scoring. We've got a lot of power in this lineup. Our ballpark isn't too conducive to hitting a ton of bombs, but we're going to try our best. Rory Smith and Dave Taylor have been standouts so far, while minor FA signing Ethan Broadbent is also off to a good start.

It's been a busy couple of weeks in injury news. We are still without Wood and Johnson in the bullpen. Wood's injury switched to an "unknown" return this sim, while I got a note that Johnson will be available a week sooner than I first thought. Pieter van Westen was put on the DL out of precaution after he went down with a DTD injury in his first start. We also have star catcher Josh Allen dealing with a strained oblique for 2-3 weeks and perhaps headed for the DL as well.

We face the two reigning division winners in the IL next sim, so we'll figure out what we've got against two top contenders in Baltimore and Seattle.

Denver goes 4-3 and 7-6 overall.

The starting pitching was better this week. The hitting took a bit of a slide with Healey, Grubel and Melendez all looking rather pedestrian. Thankfully, Nieto and Janson continue to rake for us.

Bernardi followed up his "stinker" debut to throw 7 one-hit innings. That's the guy we signed (and paid a lot of money to sign).

Conlee. All we needed was for Conlee to be average while DeGennaro recovered from his ST injury. I even told myself that if Conlee pitches well enough, I'll give DeGennaro reps in AAA, otherwise, I'm rushing him back.

Well Conlee threw a no-hitter against Phoenix and has not allowed an earned run in his two starts. I think that qualifies as a reason to keep him in the fifth spot while DeGennaro shakes the rust off in Tucson.
