I apologize ahead of time for the following rant... but...

WHY THE HELL CAN'T PEOPLE STICK TO THE CORRECT PITCHING MATCH-UPS LISTED IN THE 7 DAY LINEUPS?!?!??!?

Ok... pshew... wanted to get that off my chest. I am really unhappy with this situation the last two sims... I pour over my lineups to try and get the best matchup for my hitters... as I don't have the most talent, I really need to do MY best to give my team a shot to win... So when I set my line-up for a certain pitcher... I expect that pitcher to be pitching!!! I know it really sounds like i'm just bitching... but in the MLB managers play certain players against certain pitchers to gain a statistical advantage... and that's what I've been doing as well. Markus has stated before that hitters hit some pitchers better than others and I've been using that to my advantage to play guys in favorable matchups.

This usually only happens when I face teams that use the 'pitch highest rested starter' as it often skips rotation spots to pitch the higher guy. I just wish the game would put TBD in their pitching slot instead of giving me incorrect information. At least with TBD I could put a line-up out that would be the most talented... and hope for the best.

I'm not complaining so much about the other owners... maybe more the game... I just wish there was a way to get a concrete way of knowing which pitchers you were going to face so you could set your lineup accordingly!

    FUCK!

Thanks for listening... I'll go climb back in my cave now.

That's the exact reason why I do move my pitchers around. I figure since there's no in-game management for match ups... I have to try to take as much of the gameplanning element out of it for my opponent as possible.

Some guys probably also use "Start highest rested starter" and if that's the case you can throw all scheduled starts out the window.

I don't see how that would be possible...how would it know that a certain team has start highest starter selected? I know if you've exported that way it would be some people might change that around sometimes so then it would be affected.

Other than the playoffs I never look at the opposing pitcher. In fact, I may be in the minority, but I don't use 7-day line-ups either. I just did for the last 2 sims since I had some guys coming off the DL so I wanted to get them in ASAP but otherwise I use my standard line-ups.

As far as I know, MLB does not use 7-day lineups, nor do they play a weeks worth of games not being able to make any changes. I guess my point is, we're in a week by week league, not day by day. I completely understand your frustration, but if you think about it in real life, if a manager wanted to be a dick and change pitchers after the lineups were submitted every game, they technically could, thereby causing the same issues. Such is life.

Now if you could find a way to make whatever pitchers you have scheduled to start not pitch like a 6 year old girl, give me a call.

LOL, I suppose you could try drafting better pitchers.

Wouldn't most use this...I do. I assumed it would get your #1/#2 (and hopefully better pitchers) more starts...or am I off?

I don't use that because I'm worried about my guys getting hurt because of too many innings.

I am the same way expcept I just try to ensure that my pitchers get at least 4 days rest. When there are off days, I'll move my better pitchers up a day or manipulate the rotation so that I get my lefty matched up against the team I want.

I use highest rested starter, and played California to end last sim. Hmmm....

                      Depends on your strategy.

I've switched back and forth with it depending on how my rotation looks.

Also, keep in mind that if your number 3 has a bad game and gets taken out after one inning, he could essentially be the highest rested starter in three days and could start over your ace who might not be 100% ready to pitch.
