    1-5 (0-3 v. Morgantown, 1-2 v. Carolina)

    Good:
Mark Stewart: He's really taken off since his trade to the Kodiaks. This week he smacked three homers for a .444/.524/1.000. Was also named IL player of the week. This marks the second week in a row a Kodiak was named IL player of the week.

As a team I've moved up to 6th in the IL in OPS.

    Bad:
Jose Compres- After being named IL player of the week last week, Compres responded by going 4/19 with 9K's and 0 walks. His overall line was a beautiful .211/.211/.263

39 runs in six games given up by my pitching staff... or nearly seven runs a game.

    Ugly:
Joe Toapanta- I just don't know what's up with Joe T. I've never seen a starter with such great stuff get constantly pounded with nearly all of the balls that are put in play. For pitching three inning, having a BABIP of .500 just seems outrageous. Currently his BABIP is .100 points higher than his career average... I hope that changes soon.

You obviously don't understand the relationship Clay and I have. :)

Hmm...maybe the Buzzell deal was bad in hindsight?

          4-2 Sim. 2-1 vs. Los Alamos/2-1 @ Morgantown

Doing well starting the season, but then again we started well last season and look where that left us.

          The Good
-After a horrendous April, Tim Nathan looks to be back in form. Pitched seven innings with 1ER and just three hits. With a little help from the bullpen and a couple of bats on the ball, we took a 2-1, 14-inning win over Morgantown. By the way, we seem to always struggle against them. Also a big surprise has been the play of backup catcher Thomas Corriveau. He's hitting a team best .324 through 41 games and I'm proud of him because I almost cut his ass after spring training. Finally, Hernando Ortiz has been a MONSTER in relief. Posting just .35 ERA through 25+ innings and a 4-1 record as a reliever, he's saved our ass more than "The Giant Killer" this year.

          The Bad
We are 10th in the IL in batting average and on-base+slugging. We are 8th in HR's as Latham's mortalilty is glaringly apparent this year. We started out well with rookie infielders, Boyd and Washington flying out the gate, but the two have come back down to earth lately. However, we are in first place so we can't complain too much.

          The Ugly
WE CANNOT LOSE TO CALI AGAIN. Period.
