      No pre-sim on BJ Smith?

Edit: Nevermind. I guess my last export didn't go thru. My bad, I swear I hit export a few times last night just didn't go thru?

Oh well Pawtucket 2-3. Things could of been worse I guess.

3-3 sim for us, overall a better start for us. TJ Preddy went into beast mode to start the year. The DH has given us a lot of flexibility in the lineup.

5-1. My offense was great my pitching was really bad. Need to take a harder look at my starting pitchers.

Scored twelve runs in six games and somehow won twice. Might have to bring Branum up sooner than anticipated.

Seattle wins both home series (2-1) vs. Phoenix and New York. Way too early to buy into stats but Seattle is 1st in the IL in runs, 4th in RP ERA, 6th in defense but 12th in SP ERA! I'm sure this group will come around but besides my top three of Seymour, Bernardi and Teel, the backend could really be a mix and match of SP, RP and guys in Triple-A. But the defense should be better than last year, especially with the DH spot now.

In transaction news, Seattle signed former Miami (and Davenport) LH catcher Landon McClelland for $3M. According to the positional strength catcher is our biggest need and the top three catchers in current ability according to player development are all RHs. We got LH C Dave Blackmon for $6M late in FA last year, so to get McClelland (who looks like the better player) for just $3M, I feel pretty lucky. He will shake off the rust in the minors for a few weeks but might be the best catcher in the organization going forward.

REMINDER! Check out the waiver wire this week! Also if you still have holes, take a look at FA again. Demands have dropped considerably and a lot of players who were asking for BLB contracts are now willing to sign a minor league deal.

And hats off to RobD and SP DJ "The Brick" Engstrom. That injury sounds bad and at 37-years-old, his time as a dominant pitcher in this league might be coming to an end. He's one of the best the league has ever seen.

4-2 and I guess it isn’t time to write off the Bulldogs just yet.

If there were any question about the impact of a good pitching coach, I think those were answered after this weeks performance. I get that it is just one week, but to see Benjamin throw not one, but TWO complete games is proof enough for me.

We we also were #1 in defensive efficiency and I haven’t seen us play defense like this in years. We also were able to steal nine bases to lead the league too.

Although we didn’t swing the bat well, we were able to bang out 8 home runs for the week. Three of those were belted by CJ Stripling who coincidentally, only had 4 hits all week.

Because the the starters were so dominant, I didn’t get to see much of our bullpen. I think that is again a weakness for us. If we manage to hang around for the beginning of the season with Washington and Philly, then we’ll look to shore that up this season through trade.

                    No Injuries

                    I'll take it.

I tried to sign him too, but he and my manager don't see eye to eye.

SP Dave Gotschall did what we brought him in to do...

                      Get a win against Denver.

                      That is all.

Everyone acting like Gotschall wouldn't help them.
