Why not... Mike Morla gets hurt one final time in 2028... For a guy with no injury history whatsoever, he took an absolute beating this year! He somehow still managed to pile up an impressive numbers...

.357/0.404/0.591 slash line in and around the injuries

22 homeruns and 71 RBI in only 96 games!

His 300th career home run and 100th RBI

but for the first time in his career does not show up on a single leaderboard top ten!

We went 5-2. Nothing we can do if Baltimore is going 7-0. We had a great sim so I can't even be disappointed.

The boys do everything right as =we were able to go 7-0 to close out the season and make our 9th straight playoff birth. I don't expect anything but a DVS steamroll but we've got a ton of playoff experience with this group. I'd actually give us fighting chance if Blick wasn't shelved for the year.

              Season Highlights:

RP Ron Kleinman leads the IL in saves with 41 (a pretty low number relative to recent years). There is a good chance that he is selected for Last Call in the IL. In either case, I'm pretty sure he's gone after this year because his high greed and only making 2.2 MM on a player option next year. He does have a high loyalty but I doubt we see him leave that extra cash in FA.

1B Bruno Damours had a monster season leading the IL in almost every power-related category. He also chipped in a .335 batting average and 30 steals. I haven't checked yet, but my guess is he is in elite company with a 35+ HR, 30 SB season. It has been a second coming out party for the 23 year old and we'll see if he can bring some more magic to the series vs. DVS.

OF Tom "Cookie" Clark was the IL Batting Champ for 2028. He battled a ton of injuries this past season but hopefully he too is ready to step it up against the Scorpions.

Outside of Kleinman and Abadee, our pitching was a dumpster fire this this season following the unexpected departure of our long time pitching coach. I don't expect that to miraculously change in the playoffs either. We are too inconsistent to make any real noise this year but I'm sure the Bulldogs will do their best.

              - Porter Champs: '92, '93, '97, '98, '01, '03, '06, '08, '12
              - Playoffs: '92, '93, '97, '98, '99, '01, '03, '06, '08, '12, '13, '14, '15, '16

5-2 week for the Bats and we won the Stout title for the second consecutive year. We finish up with 95 wins, so it was a good year even if wasn't quite as good as last year. I expected some bumps in the road as we gave young guys bigger roles, but we ended up where I was hoping.

The final week came at a pretty steep price. Starting SS Hiroya Murata was lost for 11 months with a concussion. Somehow it occurred as he made diving catch. Murata hadn't hit well at all, but he's really good defensively and is a big loss at a thin position for us. Rookie sensation Ron Thornton suffered a strained oblique and is day to day for the next 2 weeks. Given how he's hitting, I don't see how I can take him out of the lineup. Jimenez was also banged up, but he'll be healthy in 2 days so that's ok.

Beyond the injuries, we had an alright week. Good weeks at the plate from Ian Lisch, Jamie Nickerson, Jayden Alexander and Thornton. A bunch of new faces compared to our previous years, but they're getting the job done. Murata's replacement, Robby James, hit a walkoff HR in game we lost Murata.

We didn't pitch well this week. We normally do, so hopefully this isn't the start of a new trend. Payette won both his starts to finish with a 15-5 record. He's been a really good FA signing from a few years ago.

Everyone's favorite player Dave Grubel hit over .400 for the week with a home run.

He had a hit in every game of his very short season until the final game of the year going 0-4 and lowering his batting average from over .500 to a measly .469.

                  He's ready for next year.
