1.1
Phoenix selected SP Pat Kubacki with the first pick.
Kubacki is a two-time all star. He is currently striking out hitters at a ridiculous 16.69 K/9 pace. Perhaps the clear #1 pitcher in the entire draft. OSA believes he has an elite Fastball, Slider and Curveball. And he's an 80-60-60 which should make him one of the most dominant pitchers in the BLB if he develops.
1.2
Hartford selected RF Ron Hutchinson with the second overall pick.
Hutchinson has enormous power and contact potential. His only weakness could be his fielding though it's not exactly poor, it's just average. In two college seasons Ron has (as of this writing) hit 56 home runs. OSA sees him as 70-70-80-45-60.
1.3
Denver selects SP Sheng Jong third overall.
As I said in slack, there are major concerns with his control though my scout sees him as average in that area. Jong is masterful at keeping the ball down and projects to have a plus Curveball, Splitter and Changeup. OSA sees him 75-75-40. We believe he's the second best pitcher in the draft and would have had difficulty deciding between him and Kubacki if we had the chance.Denver Bulls

Denver selects Tom Stafford with the 26th pick in the draft.
Stafford can throw 98 and has a plus fastball with expectations to have a very good curveball and splitter. OSA sees him as 75-55-55. My scout sees just about the same.
We want to keep building up a bullpen and believe Stafford is the best in the draft. He's also a Rice teammate of our first round pick Sheng Jong. Hoping to see these two starting and finishing games together in Denver someday.Denver Bulls

I think I should have 3 4th round picks this season:
4.IND
4.SYR
4.DVS
The utility has me at 4.6 and 4.24... but I don't see another IND or SYR pick. Not sure what it would be.

With the 44th overall pick, Denver selects C Dave Pierce.
OSA isn't high on the catcher but my scout absolutely loves this guy. I'm inclined to believe him since he's been so right about another catcher in my system Jonathan Mason.
Pierce finished his senior year in high school with a .479 average. He's young so he's got a long time to develop and anything can happen but my scout sees his current ability where OSA sees his potential. We shall see.Denver Bulls
