Pawtucket has played 17 road games so far . Wow, I guess being down only 2.5 games have to feel somewhat good about this. Pitching is slowly getting in line. Hitting still a major issue. Least (so far) the new doctor appears to have made an impact?

I'm sensing some real parity this season in the DL. With all the new players dispersed it really should not come as a complete surprise.

      THANKS MATT!

Not the result one would hope for. Seattle went 1-2 vs. Carolina and 1-2 @ New York. However, the bigger news, just like last week was an injury. Seattle loses CL Ian McManus, currently the #5 best CL in baseball, for four months with a torn labrum. He finished 2nd in the IL Last Call Relief last year and is a big loss for a team that currently ranks just 5th in the IL in RP ERA. All while Death Valley continues their reign of terror, winning 11 straight and surprise Windy City is just 1.5 back at 16-10.

Team chemistry is also currently "unhappy." Which I can't remember a time in the last six or so seasons that it was.

Could be an interesting season for the Pilots.

That went poorly for the Bats. A 2-4 week as we got swept by Death Valley before salvaging 2 of 3 against California.

Most notably, the week couldn't have gone worse for my bullpen and Marco Rosaro. He got lit up on three separate occasions and then ended the week by suffering an injury that will keep him out for the next two weeks. I've mentioned plenty of times how heavily we lean on him, and it may have cost us with this performance and injury. The late-inning meltdowns cost us a couple of winnable games this sim, and now we'll have to re-arrange the bullpen to account for the loss of our anchor.

It's been a disappointing start for some of my hitters. My scout assures me that Josh Allen is a star - he even appears as one of my three top players in my "Meet the Team" section. Yet, so far, he's been extremely average for us at the plate. I'll need more from him if we're going to meet expectations. My middle infield combo of Dave Taylor and Hiroya Murata are also not hitting so far to start this season. Murata is a defensive wizard, but he's going to have to hit to stay in the lineup. Taylor showed some life this week, so hopefully he finds the form he had in his first two seasons. We're also getting absolutely nothing from Tom Roseboom, who's seen his promising career derailed by injuries. He might be out of the lineup soon with Dave Schneider hitting well and top prospect Bert Garza waiting in AAA.

In the minors, AAA Richmond and AA Auburn are rolling. But, in the most important news of the week, SP Jamie Breed was lost for the year with a ruptured UCL. It's a huge blow for my first round pick from last year, and yet another major injury for a top pitcher in my system. He's "durable" but that didn't save him as my top pitchers appear to just be cursed.

After a 1-5 sim, Denver goes 3-2. First winning sim of the season.

Stokes had his finest start in a Denver uniform. 10 Ks over 6 one-hit innings in Baltimore. His first of many wins to come.

Hamada threw his second start of 8 one-run innings.

And Swisher picked up 3 saves. He's 7/7 on the year.

Figueroa is up to 14 steals in 15 attempts to Pat's chagrin.

And finally some power as Cardona hit another home run (5 on the year) and Lemus connected for three, hopefully busting out of his slump.

Down in the farm, Dave "No one knows my name" Grubel hit our org Top 20 and won Player of the Week in AA.

We are promoting Pat Zeck because he had another .400+ week. I think that's 3 out of 4 weeks. He's clamoring to play in the BLB. He's 23. It's time he hits in AAA.

Jonathan Mason is still special. Dave Gotschall loves you. And Denver gets Matt Healey back in two weeks. Let's have a good May.

Dave Davis comes off the DL- gonna shake up the lineup a bit to get some more consistency. Dave Baldwin comes off the DL- have some tough decisions when he's ready.
