Good week for the Bats as we went on the road for a 6-1 week against our division rivals. It's good enough to send us to the top of the standings and tops in the power rankings.

    Highlights-

Jayden Alexander won IL Player of the Week last week. He only started twice this week, but he hit homers in both games. I've got a crowded infield, so it's going to be hard to find him a regular spot in the lineup. But he's making his case now. With a 3B prospect that I like more coming in AAA, he could just be auditioning for someone else.

Geoff Yonke also hit 2 HRs and through 2 weeks looks like he's still got it at the plate. Not sure where he fits defensively still, but I have to keep him in the lineup.

We pitched well this week. FA signing Pat Beseman pitched a 2-hit shutout (and added a 2-run double, #ScrewtheDH). Pat Arballo had a really good start, Dave Theisen was good in his 2 outings. Marco Rosaro continues to pitch most of the bullpen innings, and that's usually a good thing for us. We don't need to lean on him so heavily, but it's hard not to given how good he is and his ability to pitch so often.

In transaction news, I signed SP Ron Osborn, in a quest to see how many lefty pitchers I can have on the DL at the same time (5 now). He's out until sometime around mid-late July from what I can tell, but if he comes back healthy then he could be a big boost. After losing young lefties Van Westen and Gulley for the season, I could use another option from that side.

Its almost like Washington got a +10 user rating just for being a team.

Pawtucket 4-3. Honestly not worried as long as Marco is back. Defense looks solid, pitching is choppy but law of averages generally work. 1st Base...might see some changes.

Pretty rough week on the road.

1-1 @ Windy City, 0-2 @ DVS (got smoked 19 runs to just four!), 2-1 @ Phoenix - We also lost CF Pat Cerveny to a partially torn labrum and he will miss six weeks. He also tore his labrum in May of last year. So that's probably not a good sign.

Seattle is now 7-6 and one game back of (surprise) Windy City. The division as a hole feels a lot stronger than recent years. DVS is the runaway favorite, but WC, Denver, California all look formidable early. Also, Phoenix added some quality pieces under the radar (Douglas, Geertsma, Pelloni, Jackson).

That was his warm up game. He will thrive in Miami!!

                    Denver goes 3-4. 6-7 overall.

The offense sputtered this week. Team lost 3-0 and 8-1 to Death Valley. Then split with California losing the first game 2-1. It wasn't until a 6-5 win against Windy City that Denver scored more than 3 runs this week.

It shows in the numbers. Hardly anyone hit well. Banda hit .316 but did little else. Overacker has been the most consistent through two weeks, hitting .294/.368/..412 for the week.

Cardona did draw a few more walks and hit a home run. And J.J. Hanson has done his job well against lefties. He's slugging .727 against them in 12 plate appearances. We brought him back to do exactly that.

On the mound, the bullpen was solid which we expect. The rotation should be better but Stokes and Hamada are still working their way to top form. It's been the #4 and #5 starters Kendrick and Haugh that have been the most reliable.

Down in the farm 2B Pat Zeck hasn't shown any hiccups in his continued dominance of AA. He may be ready for AAA very soon.

                    C Jonathan Mason is following up a .400 A ball season (182 at-bats) with a .313/.400/.500 start to the 2028 A ball season.

Tommy Wood won player of the week hitting .462/.500/.885.

Dave Grubel struggled in his first week in AA but bounced back nicely this week. We are keeping an eye on him.

Next sim we finally get out of the Bock and play some Stout teams.

That's fine... We were tiring of his act in California... Plus, trades are fun!

Matt is running sim. Said sometime after 8AM Pacific. He said if not by then to tell Funclown to just wait longer.
