    Thanks Brad!

Seattle might have the most ridiculous ballpark in the BLB... Every ball hit to left field just leaves the park... It may actually be worse than Pittsburgh and In-Out Field!

      Thanks Brad,

1st week never works well in Pawtucket. Never know the hell is pitching against us that week, its a split week alot which can't make the road/ home lineup the way I prefer and to top is all off for some reason Dave Kaufman SUCKS the first month or so.

2-4. Least no one got hurt and HEY we got Wanzer back for nothing. Cup half full.

        OPENING DAY!!!

Seattle goes 4-2. Swept California then lost two of three against Denver. In typical Pilots fashion, we outscored BC 15 to 12 but didn't win the close games. One of the "players to watch" in Seattle this season is 1B Robby Caddell. For those that aren't familiar he was a college SP that TWICE tore his UCL before being committed full time to 1B. He hit .256/.736 last year in 177 PA but so far this first week he mashed. .438/1.339. He hit two homers after hitting four all of last season.

In the minors, we lost CL Dave Martinez to a torn UCL (14 months) 33 pitches into his season. This guy was fragile in college, had a torn labrum but had really high potential. I think I traded up in the 3rd round to get him. Not surprised he's hurt again. Probably going to be washed up before he even makes it out of Double-A.

In league news, I saw Andy Ulloa signed a minor league deal to play for Miami. For shame...

Thanks Brad! We made it through the storm. What an off-season. Thanks for all you do here! BLB!

Awful 1-5 start after a mess up with the trade Office... Too many new faces this year. It's encouraging that 3 of them loses came in one run games on the road. Let's see if we can gel together and have our #3 in the rotation the next SIM!

The good news is that Horton didn't pitch so he'll be fresh and healthy this week!

Thank God he didn't pick up an injury in the airport or preparing his suitcase...

                Denver goes 3-3.

The biggest crime against humanity is losing the Canadian Stallion Matt Healey to another 6 week injury. Healey suffered a seperated shoulder injury last year in the beginning of the season that took him out of action for 5 weeks. Now, he strains the same shoulder throwing the ball from third on a routine play. Not the kind of thing you want a fielder to suffer from. Thankfully, Healey isn't a power hitter so it should not rob him of too much.

Jacob Stokes had a strong Opening Day start ruined by an error and a home run. He also got smoked in his second start playing Seattle. Not what you want to see out of Stokes but he should settle in as the season progresses.

In another debut, 1B John Cardona hit two home runs, drew 6 walks, and finished the week with a 1.422 OPS. Keep it up old man.

Down in the minors, Denver's top prosect Dusty Phares hit .313. #2 prospect Jonathan Mason hit .296 with a home run and 2B Pat Zeck hit .407.

17-year-old Dave Grubel started slow in his AA debut but our scout is raving about him. And 18-year-old Garret Clausnitzer jumped from A ball to the closer's role in AAA without issue.

3-3 for the Bats. We played perhaps the two best teams in the Stout in Batavia and Baltimore, so .500 is fine. No one in the league went better than 4-2, so we're fine.

Jayden Alexander won IL Player of the Week. He hit .526 (10/19). He's a part time player at 3B, but since we faced 5 lefty starters this week he got a lot of action. New Bat Dave Webber hit .381 on the week, but did not hit a home run and we'll be counting on him to provide some power.

It wasn't a great week on the mound for us, but Marco Rosaro pretty much handled all of the bullpen work and he was excellent.

Two rookie debuts for the Bats - Former first round pick SP Dusty Borchers lost a game in Baltimore but struck out 10 over 7 innings. Former 9th round pick SS Robby James saw limited action, going 1/4 at the plate. I didn't really expect either to make the roster, but here they are. I think they can be decent players.

In the minors, top pitching prospect Pieter Van Westen was lost for the year, as the injuries to key players and prospects continue to pile up. The injury overshadows everything else, but my other top prospects all looked the part. AA Auburn scored 64 runs in their first 7 games, with 7 starters having OPS over 1.000 for the week.
