THE BLB IS BACK! THANKS BRAD! LONG LIVE THE FORUMS!

"How do I get through one night without you
If I had to live without you
What kinda life would that be
Oh I need you in my arms, need you to hold
You are my world, my heart, my soul
    If you ever leave
    Brad you would take away
    Everything good in my life
    And tell me now
How do I live without you?
    I want to know
How do I breathe without you?
    If you ever go
How do I ever, ever survive
How do I, how do I, oh how do I live
    Without you
There would be no sun in my sky
There would be no love in my life
There'd be no world left for me"

    ---

Seattle passed on the BLB dispersal but did end up with five minor leaguers in the second draft. All pitchers, all right handers. The one I'm most excited about wasn't even my first pick but my scout looooves SP Edgar Montano. He's probably wrong as I skimped on minor league scouting last year but he projects him a mid-rotation starter. He was pretty dominant in 2025 and 2026 after being a 5th round pick. In 2027, with KC on CPU control, it looks like he got bored. He will immediately get bumped to Triple-A. The other pitchers project to RHs with a few flamethrowers. I had some hitters on my board but after the top 5 or 6, I aimed heavy on pitching as my minor league system is filled with well, filler.

As for the rest of the league, I think Ryan got the steal of the draft at #5 in SS Brendon Washington. While OF Dusty Phares is probably the better prospect, I had Washington #1 on my list. He was the 12th overall pick just last year and looks to be a legit two-way SS prospect.

And again, hats off to Brad for all he does for us. In both the the BLB DD and the minor league DD, Philadelphia had "arguably" the best player available IMO pick just one spot before them (Brendan Matson, Brendon Washington). It just goes to show that we have an honest, reliable commissioner that I'm sure we all take for granted time to time.

    ---

For some reason my owner lowered my scouting and PD down this file. I will need to bump them back up but the Pilots have roughly $10M to spend. Not sure of the plan at this point.

My scouting and PD were also lowered this sim, so that might be something everybody should check to make sure. There's still a few sims before it locks in, but it's better to be aware of it now.

The Bats grabbed 3 players in the minor league draft. C Tony Rivera, 1B AJ Caldera and SP Fred Condry. Rivera was the first pick for us, and I'm excited to get him. My scout and OSA are fans of him, though he's a long, long way away. Caldera is a similar HS hitter who needs a lot of development. OSA likes Condry a decent bit, but he's just filler for me I think. Because I'm controlling Washington, I expect at least one of these guys to really work out for us.

I'll head into FA with plenty of money to spend. I'm not sure I plan to go crazy with the signings, since I'm pretty happy with this group I have. I'd like to see the young guys continue to expand their roles. I'll just kind of pick around the edges of the FA market.

Looking at it again now, I think this was the first year of the adjusted maximums/baselines? They seem different to me. Maybe it's just been so long since I looked at this screen.

Did I forget that we changed baselines?

I feel like there was discussion about that for awhile.... Maybe I'm just sleep deprived.

Denver notables are Stokes, Witte and Phares.

All three are expected to contribute to the team this following season with Phares getting a month in AAA first.

Phares was sort of a late decision. I was close to taking the relievers Carter or Jackson but ultimately decided to place the now prospect instead of the future prospects first on my list.

Next act is to extend Stokes. We have an offer in that will keep him in Denver through his prime and at a rate I consider pretty reasonable for a top flight pitcher.

We are also extending an offer to keep Banda beyond this year. A great defensive center fielder that can hit .300 and pick up 30 doubles and 10 triples when healthy is too valuable to let go.

And finally there's the rest of the team. No one but Healey, Figueroa and Banda are safe in the lineup. We will look for inexpensive upgrades through trade and free agency.

I’m just hoping to keep this core together. Payroll is escalating quickly and we are probably going to have to make some tough decisions at the end of this season.
