Lousy year to be a FA as Davenport and KC just dumped a bunch of free FA on the market.

          Thanks Brad!

Seattle re-signed SP Dave Teel (3 years, $66M). He made $33.5M last season and opted out of another $33.5M, so his willingness to return for less was quite a surprise. The Pilots did however let OF Manny Nieto, SS Izzy Rivera, SP Dave Hall, C Garrett Batchelor and a few others test the FA waters. The big loss will be "Big Cat" Nieto. He departs as the teams career leader in numerous batting categories and enters FA with 228 career HRs, 41 WAR and just turned 27 in October.

            It's good to be back.

The biggest news in Washington was re-signing Ed Carroll to a 3 year, $58.5M (19.5 annually) deal. He can opt out after year 2, so maybe we'll be back here in a couple seasons but it's great to have one of the BLB's all-time greats staying in town for a couple more years at minimum. I'm happy with the price as well.

We say goodbye to Dave Blackmon, Ron Hammond, Alec Aymond, Tom Pryor. The four combined for almost 10 WAR, so it's some losses. I hated to just non-tender Blackmon and Hammond, but I was never able to find any interest for them in the trade market. They've both been good players for me but it's time to give the young guys a chance at those spots. Seems odd to say that since neither of them are old - they've got plenty left to give in this league.

I'll head into free agency with plenty of money to spend. I've got a couple spots I'd like to fill but I'm not sure I want to spend my entire budget to do it. Need to retain my financial flexibility going forward as some of my prospects begin to cost more.

Do we export from this file or do we wait until after we have a file with the dispersal draft run?

Brad , not sure if this was asked or said but is the amateur portion of the draft this same order? Is it a snake draft or just gonna be straight up 4-5 rounds ?
