Our good play continued in Washington, as the Bats went 5-1 this week. Won 2/3 against Davenport at home before sweeping the Blues on the road. We've been red-hot since July began (36-10 since then) and now have a decent lead in the Stout, though there's still a lot of games left to play. With our 81st win of the season, we also clinched the franchise's 28th consecutive season playing at least .500 ball, extending the BLB record.

So, good results for the team. The players that made it happen this week:

-Geoff Yonke won IL Player of the Week, his 3rd of the season. He hit .435 with 3 HRs this week. He's clearly falling off with his glove, but at the plate he's still a force.

-Dave Theisen made his BLB debut. The league's #1 prospect got a win against Davenport, going 6 innings and striking out 8. Hopefully that's just the start to a great career. I think that makes seven rookies on my team, so the young guys are playing important roles this season in DC.

-Marco Rosaro pitched great in 4 appearances. He's allowed one earned run since June 11th, no runs since July 10th - 36 innings since he allowed a run to score. He's dropped his ERA down under 1 and is having a great season as my shutdown guy from the bullpen. Probably my team MVP.

Looking ahead, it figures to be a difficult week. We head on the road to take on Davenport before heading over to Death Valley for a matchup of the BLB's two best records. It'll be a big test for this team to see if we can keep playing like this against the league's best team.

4-2 week for the Pilots plus a little help from Batavia, gets the Bock lead down to single digits. We have about 40 games left, with six against DVS, to try and win the division. I wouldn't bank on it but with +6 home games and the easiest remaining schedule in the BLB (.455) I think it could be close.

When September rosters expand, Seattle is likely to go full 40 to gain even the slightest edge down the stretch. I anticipate a lot of BLB debuts but we are going to go ahead and call up 3B Johnny Satterfield this week. He's spent three full seasons in Triple-A and brings a much needed speed element to our team. Another recent debut was another 3B in Johnathan "Slappy" Ellison. He's defense first but somehow is hitting at a .909 OPS thus far.

All our minor league teams made the playoffs. They did last year as well and all lost in game #1. Hoping for a better result this year.

Most likely you will be the #1 Wildcard seed and judging by how terrible the #4 seed is gonna be might want to take the extra playoff money? (NO way a below .500 team beats you. Not even OOTP is that dumb)

I think if we can get HFA, we have a good shot at the Brew. If we end up the #1 WC, I doubt we make it out of the ILDS. We are Night/day different Home vs road.

Thanks. I enjoy writing them, so I'll keep it up. It's more fun to do when my team is playing like this. Not as enjoyable to write summaries of 1-5 weeks.

Crap sim for us, a sweep by Davenport really hurts. Gonna shake up the lineup a bit and get Ernie Naylon back into the starting lineup consistently and see how we do. The race for the 4th WC spot is still gonna be fun. Garbage Pat Kauffman is out for the season- I got lucky trading for Parham now.

                          Agreed.

                          This week Denver sucked again.

Anyone else getting an error when uploading saying your minor league playoff roster isn't set? I can't find a way to create a playoff roster for the minors.
