2nd in the division? Feels odd being this high after so many years of financial crash...

3-3 week for the Bats. It seems like we're going to be a .500 team on the road, so I expected us to lose the series at Death Valley and we did. Came back to win the series at Davenport to even out the week. It keeps us in second place, though I think Seattle passed us in the wildcard standings.

Dave Blackmon gave us our third straight IL Player of the Week. He only had 12 AB's this week, but he got hits in 9 of them to win the award. SS Dave Taylor is showing no signs of a sophomore slump so far. He went 12/20 this week and is third in the IL in WAR.

It wasn't all good news. Pat Arballo had the worst start of his career (that I can remember) in the game we lost at Davenport. #66 prospect Ron Thornton broke his foot and is out 4 weeks, adding to the list of top prospects to be injured for me this year.

In transaction news, I have officially waived 3B Shiloh Martin and OF Bryon Bolding. Both cost just $280k and project to roughly 2 WAR for a full season. Good depth pieces. Let me know if anyone, especially in the DL, would want to throw me a ham sandwich for either. I think both will be claimed and I'd much rather send them to the other league than helping the depth of my competition.

On the field, 5-1 road week (3-0 BAL, 2-1 CAR). Still two games back in the Bock but a full game up on Washington for the #1 Wild Card spot. With how much better the Pilots play in Seattle, winning the division is pretty important. Might have to look into switching to the five-man rotation and not as much rest down the stretch. Death Valley isn't showing any signs of slowing down.

Speaking of the Bock, and this might be opening a much larger discussion, but I really think we should look into realignment. It's been awhile since we have done it but the divisions are clearly out of balance.
          Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-
          Seattle Pilots- 2017-2041

Philly = 23 Runs | 5 Runs Allowed this week. That'll play. Seems sustainable too.

Thanks Brad. Whenever bad things are happening, I'm going to ask you to confirm they are bad.

Paw 3-3. Eh, keep closing on the Ale though. If we can just get thru May it seems maybe we will be ok?? Was a really shitty start to this month.

On the positive SP Round Tree looked really good in his first start. We basically now have 3 rookie players up in the BLB right now. Makes for a bit of an up & down team. #growingpains

Agree with discussion regarding realignment. Our division top to bottom is a bloodbath and probably will remain so for the foreseeable future.

Along with the contraction of two teams... and away we go!
