5-2 home week against BAT-NY-DC. Now just 1.5 back of Death Valley in the Bock. We had our first major injury (not including minors) losing P Tristan "Professor" Jackson for the next four months. I've been eyeing Jackson as a convert to RP for the last few seasons and was pretty excited to scoop him up late in FA. He was doing really well but at 35 and fragile I can't be too surprised he got hurt.

I believe the DVS extension of Jamie Steele is a year early.

It is not. I cleared it with Brad beforehand. Due to age he’ is no longer eligible for arbitration as all his team control is exhausted in game based on MLB time/injuries. It is a legal extension.

            I don't think that's right either.

Age has nothing to do with arbitration eligibility. If you call up a 40 year old rookie, he still has three years at $280K before arbitration. We have seen this with not only older players but IFAs who are much, much older than Steele. Ulloa was arbitration eligible at 33 years old.

The reason he isn't showing arbitration on your finance pages is because he's in Triple-A on a rehab assignment I believe. I think it might be new to OOTP18, but whenever a player is in the minor leagues their arbitration estimate does not show up on the finance page nor on their player page under personal details.

For example, I have a player as such in 3B Dave Puckett. He's 29. He's on his last season of $280k. When he's in the minors, on my finance page it doesn't show he's headed to arbitration. Why? Because he is in Double-A (or possibly DFA on your guys file). When I move him from Double-A to BLB, the arbitration shows up on the finance page.

Blame me, umd requested an exemption and I granted based on what I saw in front of me at the time.

Not your fault. Fix whatever needs fixing.

Not placing blame on anyone nor is it a critique on you as commish. I’m sure UMD looked at the contract page and saw he was predicted to be a FA. I actually think the Scorpions would prefer team control and highly likely less annual salary by going through arbitration.

4-3 week for the Bats. With all games on the road, including a 3-game series at Seatle, I'm happy with that result. Predictably, we lost the series to the Pilots, but managed to win 3/4 of the other games to still give us a solid week.

Yonke won IL Player of the Week, carrying the offense as he's done so often in his career. Good pitching from Chad Raymond and Tom Calligan.

So.....seems Pawtucket can't beat LA. 0-6 and really nothing I can say as to why the matchup is so different this year. Regardless LA is playing great right now.

Guess we will lick our wounds to see if we can pick it up the rest of May, but this is beginning to feel a bit like 2025 all over again.
