      Thanks Brad!

Seattle goes 2-1 vs. DVS/DAV, to clinch the Bock for the third consecutive year. The division isn't the strongest but as a GM, this is just the 2nd time in my career that I have won the division for three consecutive seasons. Considering the last time was 1986-1988 in DC, it's been quite a long time.

With the #1 seed settled and nothing left to play for we will be resting guys down the stretch. I apologize to BradZ and nelmsm as Denver will likely see a much inferior team in the final three games of the season. I think the backups will give the baseball club a competitive series, however. A lot of young guys with something to prove.

Speaking of the IL Wild Card, what an interesting final week. Philly plays NYK (four games back of DC for Stout, Wild Card clinched, could be resting starters) and Batavia (tanking). Davenport plays Windy City (worst team in the many years) and Death Valley (#1 WC clinched, division out of reach). Denver plays Phoenix (tanking) and Seattle (resting starters). Three teams battling for one spot only one game apart. It might take a 5-1 or even 6-0 week to be the team to sneak in considering the schedules.

We are finally back in the playoffs.

Fred Ratley has been balling all year. Don't think that I'll be resting anybody this sim.

I wish Ratley never got hurt last year.

Bulldogs go 5-2 with a solid but not insurmountable, 4 game lead over the Knights.

After a rough August, we just might be getting hot at the right time. While both CJ (Stripling) and Bruno (Damours) are laying waste to opposing pitchers, I think a key difference maker has to be C Storm Johnson. He hit very poorly during the first half of the year but has hit a shade under .300 since July 1st, while chipping in 9 home runs and tying for the team lead in walks (27) over that same span. With him hitting well, we are a much more complete offense.

Our offense usually gets a lot of credit, but the pitching this year has, quietly, been tough for a lot of teams. We are actually 1st in the IL in Team ERA and bullpen ERA and shutouts, while currently in 2nd in starter ERA. Most surprisingly, we have allowed the 2nd fewest home runs in the IL, trailing only the Bats.

Our magic number is just 3 games and Stats Lab gives us a 99.3% chance of winning the division. But as we all know, you gotta play the games. We'd love to earn that first round bye and HFA everywhere outside of Seattle.

                      Lets do this.

SP Jimmy West had exactly 1 shutout in 10 BLB seasons in Maine and Montreal.

He's had 3 in Baltimore this year.

Pulling out all the stops this next sim. Going with 4 starters and sitting down all the crap in the bullpen.
6 games out with 6 games left.
