Wow tied for first- that hasn't happened for this franchise in a long time. Still don't love our immediate prospects this year given the injuries and pitching inconsistency, but this team could be setting itself up for some sustained success in the coming years.

Morla has had 8 guys thrown out at the plate on his would be rbi singles... It's probably pretty sad that I know that, but still... That's a pile of missed rbi and potentially a few extra wins!

With the season over we called up 1B Tom Stoltenberg (2021 1st round pick) and he proceeded to get a hit in his two first at bats and finish the week at 0.308 and 1 rbi. We also called up C pat Pepping (gathered as a throw in piece in the Dan Bradford trade). He also picked up a hit in his first at bat. He had an even stronger week where he batted 0.400 with his first BLB home run and 6 RBI. At least this gives the Kodiak fans something to cheer about.

On a down side, after starting the week 3 for 3, Morla went 4 for his last 22, which ended his outshot shot at batting 0.400 this year. Still pretty impressive that he was batting 0.391 going into September! At 31 years of age, he may be having his best season ever!

Check the waiver wire (if it's not too late in the season?!)... California dumped a bunch of older talent that may help a contending team in the stretch run... Or a team that is just looking for free parts!
