C.J. Orlando who we claimed off waivers from Washington and only had 8 at-bats, was our star of the week.

    That explains nothing.

4-3 and with a little from Washington, we are back in the convo for the Stout title. I'd really like to get that first round bye and home field advantage.

Enough cannot be said about 3B Robbie Adelsberger in his rookie season. The 22 year old currently leads the IL in average and is 2nd on OBP. He's stepped up in a big way, especially since Stripling has missed so much time to injury. He now plays as our everyday third baseman and is a dangerous hitter no matter who is on the mound. Not bad at all for a 5th round pick who has a chance to pick up IL New Brew.

Speaking of the triple crown winner, OF CJ Stripling will return from the DL again trying to shake off an injury to his right hand. Earlier this season, he broke his right thumb on a defensive play and most recently, he bruised his right wrist trying to make a defensive play on the ball. With OF Michael McKay and OF Tom Fiano both playing well this year, we'll probably be giving CJ a bit more rest through the rest of August before we make a real push in September.

32 year old right hander, Jimmy West just threw his 2nd shut out of the season, a 4K, 7H shackling of the Freedom. Before this year, the last time he threw a shutout was back in 2018. He's been an excellent pickup for us.

CL Edwin Carrasco picked up his 38th save of the year and also broke the 300th save mark for his career. He currently sits at 301 and shows no signs of slowing down at 33 years old. He's won the IL Last Call Award the previous three seasons and is a strong candidate for his fourth straight Last Call. Being that he entered the league at 27 and if he stays healthy, he's going to make an interesting case for the BLB HOF down the road.

We finish off all our out of division play over the next three weeks with two series apiece against Seattle, Davenport, and DVS, starting with a series hosting Seattle and then head to Davenport.
