      THANKS BRAD!

Seattle goes 5-1 (3-0 vs. WC, 2-1 @ DAV) to maintain 14.5 game lead in the Bock. Unfortunately, 3B Johnny "Big Stick" Swope got HBP and broke his thumb, missing five weeks. Lucky he will still have time to come back and get the rust off before the playoffs start.

3-1 @Baltimore (yay!); followed by a sweep at the hands of the Tobs (boo!)

Up and down week, for an up and down season. Meh.

We headed up to New York and swept 4 games followed by losing 2/3 in Batavia. But, I'll happily take a 5-2 week on the road in our division, and it's enough to lift the Bats into first place by ourselves.

Positives for the week - Calligan is back and pitched well. The new-look back of my bullpen was excellent. Ron Hammond has practically been a revelation at 3B for us. Almost half of my pitching staff is listed as Hot and we lead the league in runs allowed. Yonke continues to hit.

We did suffer a couple of costly injuries. Most notably, Ruben Jimenez will be out for five weeks with a fractured thumb. That drops us down to our 3rd CF option, and I'm not really sure we've got that many. Tom Roseboom picked up a day to day injury and will be hampered by that for the next 2 weeks. I'd like to rest him, but our options in the outfield are limited with Moran already out all season and Jimenez now headed for the DL.

The highlight for the Brawlers this week was a 10 run 9th inning including a walk-off grand slam to beat Death Valley 13-12.
