3-3 for the week as we lose on the road to Davenport, but bounce back with a strong series win hosting Seattle. The Stout is super competitive, again. Despite a 27-22 record, we sit in 5th place in the Stout and would miss the playoffs if they started today. However, we are still only 3 games back of the division leaders so every single game will count this year.
After spending 13 months on the DL following TJ surgery in 2025, 25 year old hurler, Ron Chamberlain has gotten another opportunity in the rotation. We had to call him up as SP Erik Parham went down AGAIN, his third trip to the DL since the start of the regular season. Chamberlain pitched well, pitching 6.1 scoreless innings against a very formidable Seattle offense.
Another bright spot was the play of struggling catcher, Storm Johnson. Before last week the young Texas native had only hit 1 home run since the beginning of the season and was struggling against LHP. This past week he blasted three home runs, with 8 RBI and 2 of the home runs came against LHP. We really need him to step up and offer some protection for the top of the lineup.
Outfielders Dave Sliney and Alistair Whaley stole three more bags apiece this past week, putting them at 11 and 14 stolen bases, respectively. Sliney has seen a complete turnaround in his career so far in Baltimore as he is on pace to put up career numbers in nearly every statistical category.
Next up, we host DVS and Washington. I'm hoping to go 4-2, but I could easily see us end up 1-5 due to the quality of these two teams.
