is there any way to get the AI to actually put in the MR that is listed first on your list? The guy I have listed first has pitched .1 innings and the 2nd guy, who has an ERA of 25+ is throwing every game.

The good news of this sim is I signed my closer, who was signed through next year at 5.5 mm a year only wanted $1mm to extend his contract another year. talk about a home town discount!

23 year old Adam Nickell now has 26 hits in including 8 2B and 1 HR in 12 games so far, including a hit in every game. Not a bad way to start off the season.

Rookie Victor Gonzalez is currently on a 10 game hitting streak with 6 multi-hit games.

The bad news is MR George Pease has given up 5 runs in 3 of his last 5 outings. Just awful.

Starting the season 7-5 though, I'll take it.

My general experience has been that the AI goes to the guy listed first on the MR portion of the pitching chart a lot more often than the guy listed first for setup. So I usually put the guy I like the best there.

If that doesn't work the only other solution that I have come up with is to trade for a reliever that I think the AI will like better than the guy he always goes to. This approach worked very well for me in the Tim Pardue trade as before that the AI loved to go to a guy whose ERA was north of 5. The Pardue trade ended that.

Once I even had to cut the guy that the AI kept using. That worked too.

Hopefully people were sending their PMs to BLB waivers.

I only got 1 PM and that claim was processed correctly.

I forgot to send the message. My bad.

We should update the rules page though.

Well, since mahoney and MattG obviously made claims, if you want to process them this next sim I don't mind.

On that note, this past sim we claimed OF Jose Urra from Batavia. Last season the 29 year old Urra hit .287 in starting duty for the Muckdogs and was AAA player of the week the first week of April 1985. He'll immediately make an impact, "platooning" with 1B Mac Winson while we shuffle the DH duties between Roger Morgan and Maureo Gonez. In Winson's first week of significant action, he hit .417 with a 1.212 OPS while the Slammers went 2-4 behind some terrible pitching.
                Charlotte Knights - OSFL
                Syracuse Slammers - BLB
South America - 1984 WBC Runner Up

I had put in a claim for Urra too. He looked like a pretty good player.

As did I, but I didnt send a PM. That was one guy I was pissed about losing in the expansion draft and thought maybe I had a chance to get him back.

Damn I'm good... called my 2-4 week... 1-2 in each series just like I said....

                      THE GOOD
                      - My starters continue to be pretty good. I'm getting quality innings out of most of them and they stuck out more than they walked... something that was not happening last year.
                      - My young guns are playing well... it was Tracy last week... Poling this week. Poling's glove is a liability, but his longterm spot is likely at 1B once Maeda is ready in about 2 seasons.

                      THE BAD
                      - The Bullpen, that was so good last week, was twice as bad this week... literally falling from 1st in the IL in ERA to 12th in one sim. Errol Blue was raped all week. He was brutal.
                      - Wilton Harcourt hit his first bomb of the season... but he's not swinging the bat so far that he was last season and in the WBC

                      THE UGLY
                      - Alberto Hernando is not playing well at all. It's very likely that he will be in AAA by May, leaving a huge hole at the 'C' spot. I expect him to miss a few starts this week till he can get his head straightened out.
                      The Great One!

                      To many rings to count...

I forgot to send them as well to BLB waivers. That's hilarious since I claimed about 8 guys!

                        Oh well such is life.

I can't believe you stole a player from a 2nd year expansion team. I also can't believe I let him slip. He has a solid backup for my outfield in case somebody got hurt.
