Mathematically there's no way the team with the 7th worst record is going to be near .500 outside of some extreme scenario where the top four clubs each lost like 120 games, in which case we'd want to be lowering those teams chances anyway.

      Just so people know where I stand, I don't really have a problem with "tanking," but I like the lottery idea anyway for two reasons:

      1) The draft typically operates on the idea that the very worst teams most deserve a chance to select the best prospects. I don't totally believe in that idea. I'm not saying that good teams should get them — just that I'm not sure a 108-loss team is more deserving than a 94-loss team. I feel like if you're bad, you're bad. You're just in a group of bad teams to me.

      2) The lottery could be fun. And we're here to have fun.
