Pick is in- taking 3B Chris Pineda from the Cape Cod League. My scout loves this kid- has the enviable combo of great work ethic/loyalty/leadership. He also hit 25 HR this season which is ridiculous with an OPS approaching 1.400. He should end up as a very good hitter if he develops according to what my scout and OSA project. I liked Nunes a lot but I think Pineda is closer to a finished product.
I have a ton of talent in the infield obviously but I believe in taking the best player available this early in the draft. He can play 2B/SS/3B as well which gives me flexibility down the line. I may even have him learn some 1B to provide some long term insurance at that position. Overall, super pleased with this pick. This NYK offense could be really good in a few years.Last edited by Spectre; 03-27-2018, 08:04 PM.

So far the picks, according to my scouts draft list, have taken the 2nd, 3rd and 4th players off the board.

Nice pick at three... That will be the pick I regret if 'Jet' fails to deliver on his pitching promise!

Pineda was the best player in the draft in my mind... unfortunately he went a pick before me... so we went with pitching - Israel Montero - solid ground ball pitcher that my scout believes will anchor my rotation for years to come.Last edited by Lintyfresh85; 03-28-2018, 04:50 AM.California Kodiaks - GM - 1982-2013

I'm probably going to regret not trading up for Pineda.
His projections, stats, intangibles all point to a 3B version of Pickles James.Brewers League Baseball

Jimmy Jeffs is the first big argument my scout has had with OSA.
OSA has him as a stud, my scout sees him as a platoon bat.California Kodiaks - GM - 1982-2013
