Resigned Tristan Jackson for a nice two year deal. I know he won't be what he was last year, but a nice (cheap-ish) stopgap until the younger guys are ready.

Also, wonder if I'll have the balls to try him as a closer if he falters as a starter??

I think he would be a great closer.

        File works for me Delandis.

Lol, oops. Really was trying to gauge SS Erik 'Action' Jackson interest on the first pass since I saw Davenport had some interest. Never really though he'd take it.

Ok so SS and or 3B is filled. For now Jackson is an upgrade over anyone we've had on the left part of our infield last year. Hoping for a bit of a bounce back. He will start at SS for now, but will probably slide over to 3B once we feel SS Dave Finlay is ready to go. Those final few years of that contract will be a massive anchor though. Who knows maybe he stays durable?

Lost out on RP Tom Bailey which was a very useful bullpen arm for us the past 2 seasons. We will need to look elsewhere.

Traded Lanoe to Windy City to free up basically 11.5 million. Lets see whatever crazy moves we can get done. We need a power hitter and we need a middle bullpen arm.

Jackson's ratings look better in 18 than they did in 17 so maybe he'll bounce back. He's not a SS anymore though.

Jackson was on my radar but I hesitated to give him more than two guaranteed years.

3B for sure. Its actually why I let Ron Hammond go and moved aggressively to trade Lanoie to free up some money. Really didn't expect him to take this deal since it was so backloaded. I just wanted to the get the conversation started with him and saw Davenport had some interest.

                    Live and learn.

I think he's still got some time as a starter. Or at least I hoped he did, which is why I offered.

Also noticed now with 2 signings fan interest actually rises. Basically your fans once again know your trying to win.

Always knew that part of the game was broken. Last year some jerk signed a aged Sonny Mason to a minor league deal and my fan interest crashed.

I agree. Not as good as last year, but not bad. Good mid rotation guy.

If all else fails though, I think he'd be a dominant bullpen arm. How many years did you offer, if you're willing to say?

That's good. Will give rebuilding teams more incentive to sign popular players.
