Yeah... suspensions seem a little out of whack. We've already had more suspensions in ST and one week then the MLB sees in a season.
Season ending injuries seem to be up too.... or maybe they're just bigger names.
Aurillo did throw over 255 innings last year including playoffs though... that's crazy. The Great One!

Good: I won 2. No major injuries. Relief is as good as I thought it'd be (except for 1 outing by Whisted).
Bad: I lost 4. 1-2 for both series. Starting pitching is as bad as I thought it would be.
Ugly: Team batting average of .219. That ain't gonna cut it.
First Tardiff, now Aurillo. Two of the most promising young pitchers in our league. I'm definitely taking my time with J. Wallace. I'm almost willing to wait until he's 22 to bring him up.

At least they're not all 12-13 month injuries like they used to be. Markus needs to do some serious work on this injury system. The problem is there are CEI and SEI booleans in the injury.txt file. We have CEI shut off for reasons we discussed in the past. However, if you shut SEI off it doesn't allow an injury longer than 90 days to occur, regardless of the injury length range specified. But if you leave it on, it allows injuries of up to 13 months to occur regardless of that same range. If he would just take out the booleans and only use the range it would work much better because we could customize it to our liking.

Like make Day-to-Day and Normal injuries AVERAGE in frequency, but set the SEI to BELOW AVERAGE or less common in some way. I mean, bottomline is almost every team has at least one each season in the real MLB. It just seems like they all pile up here in the very beginning. The Great One!

Off hand I would say there are too many season ending injuries to position players, not enough to relievers and I'm not sure about starting pitchers.
The injury system would be far more realistic if the length of most injuries were indeterinate at the time of the injury and you learn more as time passes. It is silly to know almost the exact length of injuries the day they happen.

I suppose its good news that Jeff Franklin has come back strong... I don't think Aurillo will forget how to pitch while he's out.California Kodiaks - GM - 1982-2013

VIRGINIA COLONIALS (2-4)
2-1 vs Batavia
0-3 @ Baltimore
The Good:
- Easily the most promising part of this week was the bullpen. None of my pitching was great last year, but my pen was miserable. It's only a week, but 11.0 innings of bullpen work yielded only 3 hits and 0 runs (earned or unearned).
- Magness and Arendondo both took losses, but pitched really well. Getting quality work from my 3/4 is going to be key.
- Rookie Outfielder Jerry Tracy hit safely in all 6 games going .333/.391/.619 with 2 HRs batting out of the 7/8 hole.
The Bad:
- Wilton Harcourt was invisible
- Cortez Barrera pitched like a 40 year old late pick-up
- Tim Murcott put up a strange hitting like for the week at .118/.421/.176. He's not hitting, but dude can certainly take a walk.
The Ugly:
- Too many mistakes. 6 fielding errors, 47 K's and 5 times caught stealing. Good teams don't play like this.
- Alberto Hernando was brutal this week with only 2 hits, 1 BB and 7 K's while playing in all 6 games! Add to that 6 stolen bases against him (he threw out just 2 of 8 attempts) and a passed ball and the Colonials could be scrambling to fill the Catcher position soon. The Great One!

Talk about some fast starts:
and Victor Gonzalez went 11/23, with 4 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR and only 2K's. I love this kid.
