It was a team option. That decision was made the day I took over the franchise. No way we were bringing him back.

Geoffe Yonke won his ninth straight Designated Driver (2b and ss) in the IL and Mike Morla won his eighth straight Designated Driver (all at 2b) in the DL. It's incredible how good these two have been in their respective leagues...

Wow, all of my top players too big to massive hits in ratings.
Maldonado had a monster year and he dropped big time in every single category.
How do you get a +15 rating in RF and then have your RF defensive ratings drop from 65 to 55?

Gudino, Bisbee, Vanderhoef,... nearly everyone of importance took ratings drops.
Zack Jackson had some boosts as did a couple other prospects, but man,.. seeing guys like Maldonado, Bisbee (both who had GREAT seasons) and Gudino, really hurts.

I wouldn’t buy too much into ratings just yet.

                  I sure hope not.
I love Maldonado (like, unhealthy love) so seeing him take a huge cut in ratings is very disappointing.
Especially when his actual stats have been stellar thus far. 31 bombs in 121 games was pretty awesome to watch throughout the season.

Version changes do ruin a guy or two. Just the nature of the beats. I've seen a few good things...and a few 15pt drops. As Pat stated though, I'd wait a couple of scouting reports before freaking.

Or......you trade Maldonado to Pawtucket for a future 6th and 7th?

Speaking of 'changes' , 31 home runs use to be "kind of cool"..... in 1995? Below is how the BLB has evolved:

                      1995- League HRs 3112 / 130 homeruns per team
                      2005- League HRs 3235 / 135 homeruns per team
2015- League HRs 3561/ 148 homeruns per team
2025- League HRs 4322 / 166 homeruns per team. Last season actually DOWN 10 homeruns from the previous season.

Why the change? Probably a mix smaller parks to go along with pitching ratings being affected from the previous version change. Was a time a 5-5-6 (or the 45-50-55) pitcher was a solid #4, #5 and today they are back of bullpen dudes. Either way, home runs are kind of a dime a dozen now.

Any ideas on when a OOTP18 file becomes available? I'm traveling and just want to know when to check back in so I don't miss anything.
