Ugh, just when things start moving in a positive direction we go 1-5, all 1 run losses.

Arbini lasted longer than I thought he would. Good thing I snagged Guerrero and Marrero plus all these September reinforcements. I think WAS stomps us in a WC matchup though.

Got swept at home by Syracuse and lost Rod Sedivec for two months. Like last year, we've had a bunch of difficult injuries to key players at inopportune times.

I stacked Lynn squad attempted its 3 title since 2010 , but fell short in the Championship. I'm sad.

Oh the Pawtucket team seems to be doing better.

We continue to lead the IL in HRs, which is just so un-Philly like. I'll have to do some research to find our highest ever single season total and relative league ranking. John Cardona hit career HR #300 this week; Tom Lewis came back from the DL on fire . . . .and we went 1-5. The stripped down rotation has finally collapsed under the pressure. The staff as a whole put up a putrid 33|25 K|BB mark this week.

Looks like backup IF Ed Shanks took the mound for us at some point, and went 3IP without allowing a run . . .on one hit.

Slowly, we've started to play better. We're still far from a great team, but maybe we can squeak into the postseason if we can keep playing at our current level. We finished off our best month of the season at 18-11, Ed Carroll won Pitcher of the Month for the second time in his career and I'm not getting emails from unhappy players twice a week anymore. Still, we're one bad sim away from being right on the edge.

I did get Roger Villasenor back, finally. Unfortunately it looks like back to back major injuries have taken their toll on him, so I don't think he's going to help much.

As usual, my dominant minor league teams went down in the playoffs without putting up much of a fight. That's the DC way.

                      SEATTLE!

3-3 sim (1-2 @ Batavia, 2-1 vs. Philly) losing all the close ones yet again. We outscored our opponents 35-16! We finish the month of August our best 18-9 but I think a lot of it was schedule as we only had three projected playoff teams (9 games) for the month.

We have made improvements in the bullpen and defense lately though.

Going full 40 yet again looking for the smallest advantage down the stretch. We called up two top prospects in CF Maeda and 1B/LF Broadbent.

Bounce back to go 4-2 this week. 1-2 against Washington but took a 3 game series from New York. On the road for series against Baltimore and New York.

Congrats to Pawtucket (AAA) and Philadelphia (AA & A) on winning the minor league championships!

Seattle sent all three minor league affiliates to the dance and for the second year in a row lost in the first game!

I don't think Philly won the A ball Championship, we lost in the final game to Barre.

As for AA, that is still to be decided in the next SIM @Myrtle Beach.
