    3-3 for the Bulldogs.

We dropped a series to the surging Scorpions but were able to grind out a series win over Davenport. That puts us at 10-4 since the Stripling injury, which is more than acceptable in my eyes.

I can never say enough about IF Bobby Preston. Even with the Phillips Field bump, Preston is only a career .226 hitter. However it is nice to know that rain or shine, Bobby is going to contribute about his average 3.0 WAR every year. Sometimes he contributes above average defense in the infield positions and sometimes he just has a good week at the plate, hitting over 1.200 OPS with 6 crucial RBI's. I really love guys like this that don't look particularly impactful macroscopically, but still somehow get the job done.

For the most part, the Honea experiment has been a huge miscalculation on my part. He's still a good pitcher. But what is often overlooked about Phillips Field is that many, if not most, RHPs just cannot pitch here. I though Honea’s ability to keep the ball down would help but he’s already given up 5 home runs in 57 innings with us after giving up just 2 in 76 innings in Philly.

We have just one more week until Stripling returns, so I hope we can just stay close to Batavia and then make a move for the Stout in September when he is back. I really want to avoid the Wildcard round as I don't want to be that team that has to face a Washington team that doesn't have the pressure of a #1 seed hanging over them.
