4-3 and not the week we needed with Batavia going 6-0.

Stripling is hurt. Storm is hurt. With Carolina and Washington nipping at our heels, August is going to be a rough ride.

Yippee for trades! We are very average right now but youth is like that in the dog days of summer.

Nipping at your heals? I'm just hoping for a WC spot.

Just lost the best hitter in baseball and arguably, the 2nd best offensive catcher in the IL. After the separation Batavia made with the rest of the IL this week, I'm just hoping to hang on to a wildcard spot too.

5-1 home week vs. WC/DEN. The one loss we had more base runners, less errors, the POTG and almost twice as many LOB. Seattle has won eight of their last ten and find themselves three games back of the division. Great August after a .500 July.

1B Andy Ulloa is turning back the clock. The 33-year-old started the season really slow only hitting 5 HR and 18 RBI in his first 44 games. In the past EIGHT games he has hit 8 HR and 15 RBI with a .562/1.963 August, so far. He dropped off the Top Players List I think by the end of April but is now back up to #8 on the Top 20. I'm going to enjoy this while I can as Ulloa's future in Seattle is very much up in the air.

We have a three game home series against division leading Death Valley. The teams have six more H2H but this one is about as big as an August series can get. I still think they are the better team but there is a lot of baseball left this season.

In the minors we are either in 1st in the division or 1st in the WC at every level by at least four games. Our Triple-A club, which half of the roster is "ready" or "probably ready" has a .704 winning percentage. Should see a large influx in talent starting September 1st in the BLB.

            Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-
            Seattle Pilots- 2017-2041

Johnson is only day to day at 14% performance loss. He's probably still a top 5 IL catcher at that clip.

Losing Stripling sucks but at 63-48, Baltimore feels like a near lock to finish in the WC. I'm surprised to see Davenport still in the hunt but Philadelphia's recent trades + injuries pretty much eliminates them. I even think with the lead the Bulldogs have, I think a #1/#2 WC is pretty certain.

Ahhhhh, another brutal sim and another half-dozen emails from players complaining about discontent in the clubhouse without naming names or being specific.
                    I keep telling my players;
"1. Who is causing these issues? C. I don't care."
You'd think they'd figure that out by now.

Finally a winning sim for Davenport as we sweep a three game set with Phoenix and go 1-2 against Death Valley. Doesn't look like the Urmison experiment is going to work out but will probably let him hang in there for a bit longer, especially since I don't have anyone who can do much better and maybe he'll turn it around.

At the very least, he's fielding near a DWI level and he's helping with ticket sales. I applauded the signing but this looks like the end of the line for old Urmson. Special player. HOF.

Love seeing Batavia recover after last years disaster...I should have stuck around another year!

In other news...looks like OOTP is taking over FOF. I'll be running that league...sign up now!

FoF and OOTP sounds like fun!

Not a great sim for us, lots of close losses to Batavia. No surprise but we are slowly getting better. If our pitching was better, we'd be in solid shape.

Anyway, just locked up Portillo for a few more years. Gotta pay him handsomely next year but don't want to gamble with closers in the offseason. His salary is much more team friendly after next year. Not too many elite arms like him. Rest of my team is pretty well cost controlled too.

We have a bunch of guys in the farm that I'd like to see develop into decent 1B. Zach Weaver is having a breakout season- will see how he does as he continues to develop.
