You know, I didnt think the guy would make it through the year without an injury, but I never imagined another year long one. Know that I will never sign a guy again that missed the previous season. Probably.
On a sadder note, I was so pissed about this last night, I had a dream about waking up this morning and upon visiting the boards Andrew found that it was a bug if a guy missed two years in a row due to injury. It even ended up being a big deal on the OOTP boards, and he was going to be reinstated.
What a sad reality NOT to find that thread this morning.
Now, do I try to resign Griffe... errr, Paradis at some point this year, or do I let him walk?? Just one of the many stories you'll have to follow this year on "Clowns, season on the brink."

Lets see, 1985, that would be available on Beta, no? Is VHS even available yet?
Oh, and Paradis will earn his money this year. He'll be hand delivering those videos all year. Or at least until he breaks his back falling off some old ladies porch.
What a difference one player makes. Went 6-6 through the first 12. 11-1 after we got Nick back. Also Pat Washington and Ivan Garcia jumped from #24 and #26 to #11 and #13 in top 100. Nice.

'85 should have VHS. I remember having the Detroit Tigers '84 World Series videos on VHS. Karate Kid was '84 and on VHS. Oh yeah... I think '85 was well into the VHS days.

WELL into it. In fact, the format war against the Sony Betamax was already won.

VHS it is. We'll have Paradis dubbing those bitches as soon as its finalized. Hell, we may even put his ass behind the camera documenting the season. You know, so he doesnt feel left out.
Laserdisc was the shit at the time. Without Laserdisc, there would have been no CD's or DVD's. It was the first clean composite video format.
As far as size:
They were actually a little larger than a standard LP.
I have never seen a Laser disc before... They were bigger than regular Vinyl records? Damn that is huge! I guess it wasn't easy to have movie night a friends place, you would need a truck to bring the movie along.

We made it out of ST relatively healthy except for losing RP Gary Maw, which isn't such a huge loss. RP Ruben Nunez turned in a solid spring, and will crack the big league squad as a rookie. Adrian Hernandez is a defensive stud at all IF positions. He tore the cover off the ball in the spring, and has earned himself a spot as a backup IF. The bullpen was awesome, the starting rotation was inconsistent.

But, it's only spring training.
"Gugs" got hit really hard in ST. Again... ST... but... well....
Is this "waiver wire Public Service Announcement" part of Pat's probation from back in the DFA days? Do you travel the nation giving speeches about how you don't need to use your DFA to live a full life?
"The more you know...."
Actually it is the opposite.
I got so tired of hearing shit about how my minor league system is loaded with AAAA type players that I cleaned house a few seasons back. I only have ONE player who will be waived. I see this as an opportunity for really shitty teams to get some solid players.
