  • SIM COMPLETE - 1985 - ST 2

    Next sim: Tuesday

Active rosters need to be trimmed to 25. Also, remember that ALL players in the minor leagues who are out of options (+ symbol next to their name) will be placed on waivers during Tuesday's sim.

Would you like us to waive these players ourselves to help you?

Our owner informed us that he expects us to "achieve a winning season, playing better than .500 ball." hahahahahahah, hilarious.

Ouch, Frank Paradis out for the year. The guy is Mr. Glass. I lost Italo Cossa for a few weeks but Wayne "DL" Deel is healthy and back in my lineup.

We open up against Pawtucket with Puerias/Stevens/Fyson taking the hill. That's the best I've had to offer rotation-wise in my history, which isn't saying much :)

My owner wants .500 ball LOL

Andrew, I put all my out of option players on waivers.

Mother****! Two years in a row now Paradis will be out. What the hell are the odds of that happening? I was hoping that between he and Adron I could get 800 ab's. Guess not. He was raking in ST also. What a waste.

Maybe we could just re-sim? Just to be fair and all. No? Hmm...

What if the guys that are out of options (+) are on the 40 man? Do we need to place them on waivers as well?

I am pretty sure in MLB the way it works is the opposite of what you describe. If the player is not on the 40-man roster he is not waived. In our case, I think everyone is supposed to be waived.

Also by claiming a player, you are in effect giving him a major league contract, which you are responsible for and the player needs to be included on your active roster. Waiver claims are not supposed to be a way to fill out minor league rosters.

No major injuries and some decent hitting.

                      Pretty happy with pre-season.

I wonder how long that lasts.

                        ---

9-3 Sim. Finishing tied for the league best ST record at 17-7

                        The Good
-No injuries this sim! I only lost one starter, SS Jack Dynes, and he will be back in three weeks.
-My #2, #3 and #4 hitters finished ST each with an OPS over .900. RA Grounds, Keita Uchiyama and Jerry Fortin.
-No SP had an ERA higher than 2.25. Only one RP had an ERA over 3.91 and he is only on the roster for one week until MR Yuan-zhang Chiu comes off the DL.

                        The Bad
-Starting 3B Brody Whiteley finished ST with a .207 batting average. Last season he hit .282, which might have been a fluke.
-The two OFs I signed this off-season, Odilio Farelo and Innis Merriam, both hit under .200.

                        The Transactions
-#8 overall prospect, LF Miguel Angel Padilla, will be sent down to Triple-A despite hitting .310 with a .920 OPS. My OF is deep and I think he still has a few things to learn in the minors starting every day.
-I signed FA 2B Sterling Deadman for the league minimum, and he will make this roster. A career .250 hitter with a .715 OPS, still has good ratings "4-5-5-5-4" from my scout. He probably won't start a single game all season but he is a much needed LH bat off the bench.

                        ----

I also really want to encourage teams to check out the waiver wire this next sim. This is a GREAT opportunity to land some talented players. Some of these guys have been stuck in Triple-A with their current clubs just waiting for a shot at the bigs! All of the (+) signed players in Washington are now on waivers.

The Tobs and Bandits were involved in a bench clearing brawl after Jimmy Joy was beaned in the first inning of our game. Joy and Barto Ramairez were both suspended 6 games.

So, we can now take credit for the first brawl in the history of the league, in Spring Training no less.

Why must Haydon get hurt all the fucking time?

On another note, Nazaire looks to be developing some power, which is very nice. 3 HR in Spring Training is more than he had last year.

Damn... this Commish is tougher than Goodell. 6 games for arguing balls and strikes! Plus, they count in the regular season. Crap.
