To qualify that, wouldn't we first need to define the biggest sophomore slump in BLB history?

Yep, I'd have to say Melgoza was biggest Sophomore slump.

I try not to look into ST too much but he's off to a good start. Hopefully it's a rebound year for him.

          Dallas predictions:

          - Bullpen won't be as good as it was last year
          - Starting pitching won't be as good as it was last year
          - Melgoza will bounce back and hit .300 this year
          - Guzman will have his best year ever
          - A Dallas player will win DL ROY (this is a somewhat blind prediction as I don't know the other top DL rooks this year)
          - If a Dallas player wins ROY, this will be the last year for a while a Dallas player wins it
          Dallas Snappers

          Pilsner Champs: 1984, 1986, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998
          DL Wild card: 1992

Well, you guys can speak to that better than I could since I've only been here since '83. But I think that Zamora's going to be around .250/.300/.320 or something like that. But I hope not.

at some point during the season, stu will miss a sim, there will be an immediate ornery response followed by the whale telling everyone to get a life followed by a slew of defensive rebuttals.

Way to reach for that one... that could happen by Opening Day.

                  Talk about tradition.

As far as predictions go, I'll say the Clowns will win 85+ games. Baby steps.

I'll throw a few out there....

Team to beat in the DL: Maine - didn't do anything to get worse over the off-season

Team to beat in the IL: Philly - didn't make a ton of off-season noise, but I think this team is actually better this year than last

                    1st Time Playoff Team(s): Indy

                    Most Wins: 24

Comeback Player(s) Who'll Shine: Jimmy O'Loughlin (PAW) & Jose Sanchez (DEN)

1st Time All-Star (DL): Anier Tafur (IF) - Indy

1st Time All-Star (IL): Jou Onomoto (OF) - Windy City

So is that by wildcard, or do you see Dallas falling off in the Pilsner this year?

Jeff Franklin bounces back from whatever Tommy John surgery is called in this universe, to win IL Pale Ale.

Rookie 1B, Pat Washington wins IL New Brew.

Baltimore competes, but loses Porter to......California?

I think it could go either way... that's why I didn't specify. If I had to pick, I'd say Dallas wins the Pilsner and Indy the WC.

                          In fact... I'll go....

                          Maine - Ale
                          Hyundai - Lager
                          Dallas - Pilsner
                          Indy - WC (edges SC)

                          Wilmington - Stout
                          Windy City - Bock
                          Philly - Porter
                          Washington - WC (edges D'port)

Ha... doubtful. I'm still 5(?) years away from really competing for a playoff spot.
