Week in Review - 3-3 (2-0 vs Wilmington, 1-1 vs Toronto, 1-2 vs Pawtucket)

    - Five of our seven games this week were decided by 1 run. KC went 2-3 in those games.

    - KC has a deep lineup but is still vulnerable against left handed pitchers. We lost both games this week against LHP falling to 2-4 on the season. KC is 22-4 vs RHP.

    - SS C.J McNichol was suspended for 3 games for making an obscene gesture toward the umpires during Friday's game vs Pawtucket. McNichol struck out looking in the bottom of the 8th with the tying run on 2nd base. He was also caught looking in the 2nd inning with runners on 2nd and 3rd.

      Pawtucket 4-3.

We just suck at home right now. Thinking though now that I have Williams back I can be more specific on my lineups. Its always hard during trades to get a lineup down.

On the bright side of sports we play well on the road. Even took 2 of 3 from KC. Right now. were just average, but still a long way to go.

We are keeping pace right now. Still trying to figure out if Tristan Sheppard will ever turn into a solid back end starter. The pitching is always a question mark for us and it's no different this year.

We just can't seem to hit at all. Even the guys who are normally good hitters are routinely having 2 for 33 weeks.

Fired our hitting coach this sim. (Sorry, Pat.) Let's see if it helps.

3-4. We're just treading water at the moment, at the fringe of the playoff picture. Most of my top players are off to the worst starts of their career, so I'm just hoping that a couple of them will snap out of it soon and start to play closer to what I've come to expect the past couple of seasons. Getting Dave Blackmon back in the lineup in a couple weeks will hopefully also provide a spark. I'll probably shuffle a couple of things around to see if I can get something going.

We've had two different hitters take 0-fers so far this season. SS Antonio Melendez went 0-23 in week 1 and now Tom Lewis went 0-22 this week. Recently promoted hitting coach Wessin Ramirez is on the hot seat already. Yikes.

5-2 and just a single game back of Batavia for that top spot in the Stout.

OF CJ Stripling won IL POTM for April and is having another stellar year. He leading the IL in average, WAR, hits and total bases so far and is pretty well established as one of the Top 10 hitters in the league right now.

Stripling's performance is almost just expected now. What wasn't expected has been the exceptional play by former 1st round pick, CF/2B Alistair Whaley. Whaley has stepped up his game in 2025 hitting .320 on the season including an eye-popping .367/.380/.870 vs. LHP. Not only has he improved at the plate, Whaley has seamlessly alternated between playing both center field and second base, only adding to his value to this team.

Right now, this team leads the IL in average, on base percentage and home runs, making them a tough draw for any team in the IL right now. I think there are a few kinks that can be worked out on our pitching staff but overall not much to complain about, especially with such a young team.

Our only real "disappointment" so far has been the play by 1B Bruno Damours. He's only hitting .233 on the season, but we shouldn't complain too much as the kid is on pace for 42 home runs on the season (8 currently). I expect him to struggle for a maybe a month or two more but like in 2024, watch out for the Canadian in the second half of 2025.

And sorry about the minors Brad. I was doing a lot of shuffling and must've missed promoting someone to even out the rosters.

Again... Ratley... 7-8 months running the bases!!!! There has got to be a way to turn this specific injury down... I'm not saying it's not a legitimate injury, but man it happens a lot!
