Three first round picks from the Bats:
1.16 - SP Dusty Borchers - Won NCAA Pitcher of the Year in 2024 and followed it up with another good year in 2025. I like the numbers he's put in college, I like that he's a lefty, that he's got 3 really good pitches and will be able to go deep into games. So, I think he's got the talent to be a #1/2 starter. He's also a bit of an asshole, so I'll have to watch that.
1.23 - LF Sid Damewood - Listed as a LF, but I think ultimately he's a 2B (and I think he'll be just fine there). I really like the bat - my scout is high on his contact and power abilities and he's put up 3 good years at the plate in HS, hitting .378/.468/.696 with 38 HRs and 36 doubles in his career, which backs up my scout and OSA's assessment. Like almost every HS player, he's got a long way to go, so plenty could go wrong here.
1.26 - 1B Jamie Nickerson - Perhaps the best hitting skills in the draft, if you go strictly by OSA. I'm not quite as high on him as that, but I do think he's got the chance to be a really good hitter. He's only ever going to be a first baseman, but I think he can do that pretty well.
I'm pretty happy with the three guys I managed to pick. Some question marks for sure, but I think they've got the chance to be really good players if it pans out like I hope. I've got 2 more picks in the second round (#11 and #15), so hopefully I'll come away with a really good group.Washington Bats, 2013-

Borchers has pretty terrible intangibles and questionable control with a long way to go. But his stats have been really good and he's going to be a workhorse. I could see him ending up in the pen though.
Damewood's power potential is impressive. I actually think he might be a better LF than 2B, but probably won't be above average at either. OSA and my scout show a lot of development left but if he hits that potential he could be a 40 HR guy.
My scout doesn't like Nickerson as much as OSA but his stats, especially when you consider his park...he might be my favorite of the three.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-
