Of course I was just kidding when I suggested Mississippi could change.

Everything that is written in this thread is binding. We all agreed to that. So if Clay doesn't make the announcement of 1 (2) within 30 minutes of his post indicatating the announcement would be in 30 miniutes, the team with 1 (3) is free to make his pick.

Not so sure about that... Matt just uploaded a file this morning... so he's aware we're running again.

Williamsburg, VA -- Clay T. Shaver, the Owner/Operator/General Manager/Head Chef/Athletic Trainer/Hypnotist/BreakDancing Instructor of the Virginia Colonials and Inventor of "Shaver-Metric" released a statement....

Fans in Virginia, these great United States and the baseball world.... "You Look Maaaahvelous".... get it? You guys watch Saturday Night Live? No? This Billy Crystal kid..... ANYWAY....

With our highly successful '84 season, the Colonials were left with the unenviable position of picking way down in the #5 spot for this year's Amateur Draft. Although my patented "Shaver-Metrics" talent evaluation tool showed a number of taltented prospects on the board, one stood head and shoulders above the others. Well, not literally, because he's only 5'11"... so... you know... anyway. We were sure he's be donning Mississippi uniform and be left to wallow in the misery that is Storm baseball. When they took that kid from Texas... by the way... do you know the only two things that come from Texas??? Yeah... you know this one. Hehe... cracks me up.

Anyway... when the next future Colonials Superstar was still on the board at #2, we got on the phone with the fine folks in Pawtucket and put a deal in place to go up and bring out guy home...

So... without any further addd...adddooo.... addd.... without anything else being said.... it is the Virginia Colonials' pleasure to select....

Panco "Ironfist" Herrera with the #2 pick

We love this kid! He scored a perfect 8-8-8 from our scouting team...and... talk about intangibles... we think the kid steal 15 bases on top of winning 30 games!!!

                Welcome to Virginia, Pancho!

                  8-8-8?

I only had him at 6-6-6.

This is going to be madness.

Good pick. We had him as 6-6-6, so he's fitting for your team. We had him as our #3 SP prospect.

Heck... I'll take 6-6-6... hell... I'll take 5-5-5 if he develops.

Pancho fits the criteria from my exaustive study on "Nicknames".... I think that players with nicknames have a better shot at developing their potential. Aurillo, Tardiff, Keppel, "Slider" Gonzalez.... it's not science... but I think it has legs.

I had 6-6-6 as well. Good pick though, imo.
