  • I'll be out most of the day. Just give me whoever's at the top of my list.

And you can't compare the BLB draft to the MLB draft. The MLB draft's top few rounds are based entirely on how much money teams are willing to pay their picks. Everyone knows who the good players are. And that's why I'll go on the record as saying the implementation of the scouting system in this game combined with the draft pool is horrendous.

My scouting director doesn't think a single one of the outfield prospects is above a four in either contact, power, or eye. Does he favor ability? Sure. But should it ever be the case that a team's scouts don't think a single OF prospect in the draft will be a major league caliber player? No. That's ludicrous. If we're going to have a ridiculous scouting system, we should at least have high school and college stats at our disposal.

      • I think, unfortunately for people like Mississippi at the top of the draft, we're not going to really get an indication of how this new system REALLY works until we've had a season where our budgets are in place prior to the class being released.

I think this draft IS going to be a kind of crapshoot... but... I would say one thing... even in the old system, you had to learn which of your scouts you could really trust. I know most people used an average of sort, but few players were ever a great among all my scouts. Even Magness, the top player I ever drafted, was not loved by all of my scouts.

My scout had Dodson as an 8/8/7/7/6

            • I do miss having multiple scouts. But I will say, for those of you that play is the OSFL , they've done a better job here.

If you look in the OSFL at the top 20 players drafted by position since the 2007 season, they're ALL 1st round picks. There are only a few that are late rounders that must've randomly popped. It's about as unrealistic as it gets. If you're drafting a guy from the 3rd round on, you can pretty much book it that he'll be average if you're lucky.

In OOTP, that's not always the case.

I agree. Also the scout rating tracking should help too.

                    • If you go into a players scouting report, you can see all past reports from now on.

                        • Ok, thanks Mahoney, I see it.

Meanwhile my scout can be pretty critical of this draft class

"I have seen little league players hit better. No potential at all."

                          and

"Swings early and often, sometimes disregarding whether or not the pitcher has thrown the ball."

                          • Auto'd by List for Z

                            Bulls were all set

                            Made my pick

                            Los Lunas was all set

That leaves us at Andrew for the 2nd Sandwich Pick.... plus all the filler picks to get to Round 2.

1st Round in the books boys.

                              • Did Dallas make his own pick either off a list or by entering the selection or did the computer do make the pick? I am trying to figure out if the computer is better at this than our scouts are.
