Got a 26 year 3B who can field good and appears to hit to contact against lefites? Boy we are being cheap.

Geoff Perritt signs with the Exports and the clubhouse immediately got better.
I signed him to be our everyday utility IFer and to be a positive influence in the clubhouse.
Hopefully by signing him I won't be getting weekly emails from players bitching about poor chemistry.

                Seattle shops the bargain bin:

                1. OF Bereket "Magic" Asiku - He played for Seattle in 2021 (great) and 2022 (not so great) before being traded to Baltimore and later to Pittsburgh. He raked in Pittsburgh's park (.399/.928) and while our park isn't as RH friendly, it's the most RH friendly park in the IL. For $1.5M, he will platoon at LF/RF. He doesn't make up for the loss of Urmson defensively or offensively but he is probably our #3 OF.

                2. RP Manny Eguia - Groundballer with good movement. Only 27 and at $1.4M should help in middle relief.

                3. P Geoff Phillips - Starter? Reliever? We need RHs at both. He struggles giving up the long ball but I think he will benefit from escaping the Batavia outfielders.
                Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-
                Seattle Pilots- 2017-2041

Good luck with Eguia... he was good, then a disaster in California.

We missed out on Al Kelly. We just undervalued his open market response I get. He kept asking for one year, then settled on three?! Oh well... Perhaps we go cheap and add seats and reduce debt for the coming season!

We had 2 major holes we wanted to fill--catcher and closer. We got both. I'm sure we overpaid but I wanted to make sure we got our guys. With the moves we've made the last couple offseasons, and the young guys who came up last year, I'm pretty excited about our chances. At the worst we won't finish in the cellar again!

He told me he had a better offer, so I got spooked. Third year is a team option, so thankfully I didn’t have to fully guarantee that.
