I posted in the commish to do thread- hopefully this is fair play...Ruben Ortega had opted out of the last year of his contract the last sim so I expected him to be a free agent (which I definitely wanted). I now see that his contract was auto renewed at 5 million (the value of his opt out). Obviously I expected him to be a FA. Wondering if it would be OK if he could be released without me having to eat the cost as I kinda budgeted in that 5 million this year.
Agreed! Some of my guys lack of production compared to the old scale makes sense now.

Very few of my 5s or 6s became 50s or 60s... very few 55s or 65s.

And this transparency is what we should be avoiding.

I was hoping it would of explain Sedivec hit .356, but sadly it did not.

Actually looking deeper into this the guys we always suspect aren't really "5"s are in fact "45" or have rating split issues. Its in the minors where it seems to become more interesting. Maybe you won't waste your time on a guy who seems to get dinged -5 pts every few months. I looked back on past reports and it does appear we will see alot more action month to month on the subtle changes.

Agreed! This is why I was vocal for so long against the move... I liked the ambiguity... Oh well, majority rules... Maybe it'll help in free agency!

I'm just getting use to the new dam bars now. The days of just looking quickly at the screen are over. Never had to even look at the numbers. Now when I see "Yellow" need to see if its 45 or 50 lol. Too bad the game doesn't do yellow then for 50 dark yellow. 55 light blue, 60 dark. ect ect ect

Did the BLB get a new arbitrator... California got hammered!!! Bradford, Brouwer, Broughton each received an extra $2 000 000, and Rizer, who was hurt half the year, received an extra $1 000 000... There goes $7 000 000 I hadn't planned on spending!

This happened to me in 2022 or 2023. I lost all cases for a total of $10M+.

                    It sucks.

I haven't won an arbitration case in years. The estimated number that shows up as the default seems to have very little connection to the number that they end up getting on my team. This year, Koehler and Garlick both won big. Garlick's estimated number was 1.5 million. That seemed low, so I offered 2.5. He ended up winning at 4.75, more than triple the estimate the game gave me. I've given up on ever winning one of these.

Especially on a 91 loss team that is trying to rebuild on the fly... The good news is, they are now on the trade block... selfish bastards!

That's tough to budget for the following year when the difference is that stark! I blame the Yonke deal... 35.5 million a season! Yikes!

                            Award Winners!

Ed Carroll won his fifth consecutive Pale Ale Pitcher. Racking them up at an "Ironfist" Herrera pace at this point.

Geoff Yonke won his third Stout Slugger.

Micah Garlick was my only DWI winner. Yonke was the only Designated Driver for the Bats.

Interesting in the IL that Yonke wins his third Stout Slugger and in the DL the award continually goes to guys that hit home runs... Even the year that Morla (DL version of Yonke) won the Stout Slugger he had arguably his 4th or 5th best season only, but he did jack 37 home runs... (perhaps that computer, like past voters dig the DL long ball)

Morla did however, take home his record setting seventh straight Designated Driver award at second base!

Is it just me, or are the demands considerably lower than the last few years... It seems like the last few years all of the top FA wanted 20 - 30 million a season.
