  • New ratings? New game?

After updating my trade block I had a few inquiries. I know a few other teams have put up blocks as well. I think if we are moving to a new rating scale AND a new version of OOTP, it might be wise for teams to hold off on major discussions until then.

When are we implementing the new rating scale?

When are we upgrading to the newer version of the game?

It's customary for us to wait until the newest version of the game releases before updating to the next version, unless there's a dire need. I don't see a reason to rush it.

    Maybe after 2026?

Is there a big feature or change we're hoping to take advantage of in OOTP 18?

I haven’t read anything about it... just thought we were moving to it before next season.

      No reason to rush.

The chemistry feature in OOTP 18 is pretty cool. Other than that, I haven't seen any earth shattering improvements.

The expiring personnel issue in 17 left a sour taste in my mouth for that game so it would be nice to upgrade.

Being able to retain player salary in trades would be nice, although I will say I own the game but haven’t played it much.

The new team chemistry screen will be a welcome addition. It will be great to have more clarity on what is happening within our clubhouses.

None that I can really think of... I have played 18 a bit, but nothing really stands out.

I didn't know we are moving to a new version either. I'd say 2026 just cuz its been enough seasons then. Plus we just added Jim back to the mix. Still pisses me off after my first season we upgraded.

I thought Andrew said after the votation that we were moving to the new ratings for the upcoming off-season. It would be wise to change the version as well, 17 still have some annoyances like the disappearing personal extensions.

In game replays are broken in 17 as well. It may seem a bit early but I’d prefer moving forward.

I’m not a big fan and bought ‘18 but I think we should wait until 2026. We are right on the usual schedule. The new game will release right as we switch over after this season.

This thread will inevitably be one-sided because no one wants to be a party pooper. If anyone would like to express concern privately about an upgrade in the near future, please feel free to PM me and it will be noted.

Now that I've spent the last few years drafting CFers, to make up for C Ron Hillert getting hammered by the last version change, I vote we wait as well.
