        Thanks Brad.

Pawtucket 5-2. Soft part of the schedule and we totally blew one game against Wilmington, but overall can't complain. Trying to hold off PItt. Flores back this week and perfect timing as we begin to hit the home stretch.

Playoff watch: Looks like the DL is set with its teams who will be in the playoffs just a matter of seeding now. IL looks like the #6 is about the last spot being contested. Might even see a below .500 team sneak in?

Bumped our playoff lead to six games. Feeling good about that growth the last couple weeks.

Good news is that California is not in the IL, or... in the playoffs.

We're in! Playoffs clinched in DC. Magic number is 8 for the Stout title, so that's in our sights, possibly as early as next sim.

4-2, won both series at Denver and Seattle. Good week at the plate, we slashed .332/.389/.525 as a team, putting up 46 runs. Big weeks from Baber, Blackmon, Garlick, Ruggieri - so it wasn't my stars doing the heavy lifting this week.

Rougher week for the pitchers, though Calligan and Koehler did well. We've got some breathing room, so hopefully we'll be able to give guys some rest down the stretch and stay healthy.

We both feel good about that Calligan trade, don't we? Al Beck has been real nice for us, Moore has thrown some terrific games, and the other two prospects are still cooking!

I'm happy with it so far. Calligan has been good here and my scout thinks he's gotten better than ever in the past year.

I am a bit surprised by how good Beck has been for you this year. I wasn't sure he was going to make it as a starting caliber player, to be honest. Liked him a lot as a potential utility player.

Well Beck is batting .355 with a .955 OPS in Maine home games and .220 with a .573 OPS on the road. The real Beck is somewhere in between those extremes. Only time will tell exactly where.

If the veterans decide they want to go to the playoffs we will. If they continue to slip Batavia will be right there at the end for us to be swept by PHX.
