I think he’s going to be really, really good. Great catchers don’t grow on trees anymore like in the past. “Pickles” like “Tornado” are going to be head of their class for 10+ years.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-

Speaking of catchers , is it just my scout or does your scout sometimes "over-hype" them as prospects? Seen a few already as a prospect where my scout beats off about them, only to become these 4-5-4-5-5 guys and eventually become AAAA players or cut.PAWTUCKET PATRIOTS

It's easy to see a 5/5/5/4/5 guy in your system and optimistically think he's going to be a pretty good hitter, only to realize after a newer scouting report arrives to revise him down that he was probably on the border of being 4/5/4/4/4 the whole time.
The new scale will probably shed a little more light on these guys.Maine Guides

Lol, how many "Oh he's an ACE for sure" become just #4,#5 or backend starters by the time they reach 26?PAWTUCKET PATRIOTS

What is kind of neat is as you bring your guy up your system and scouting reports start to pile up you tend to get a more dialed down version of what he truly is. Kind of adds some realism IMO.

The death of the 5-5-5 pitcher. Went from solid 4/5 to basically AAA cannon fodder. Can anyone remember when you can use a 4-5-5 pitcher as a spot starter????
The death of the two pitch starter. Probably one that needed to end. Kind of took away from the realism IMO.
The minimizing of the 5-6-5/ 5-5-6/ 6-5-5 pitcher. Won't say death since they can still pitch in alot of cases. Just not what they use to be. Scouts use to say as an example "above average player" to "need an out pitch to stick around" The 6-5-5 / 5-6-5 pitchers use to roam our mid rotation.
Possible death of the "3" stamina starter. 4 is very fringe
Feels like you need 7-6-6/ 6-6-7 & 8-6-5 at the top more and more. There are outliers of course, but its not unsual for a 7-6-6 to have bad seasons then before.
I think its good. Also be interesting to see how this new ratings system differentiates these players.

I'm hoping that the new ratings scale allows these ratings to make more sense without eliminating too much of the ambiguity and player evaluation work us GMs need to do.Maine Guides

Prospects I'm sure will be helpful, but were dealing alot on potential versus actual. We spend more time trying to get them to develop or hope they will more then anything else. Are the "other" ratings changing like fielding , speed, ect? Cuz base runner/ stealing has taken on a who new level of magic I just can't seem to figure out. Fielding has a little wizardy to it as well.PAWTUCKET PATRIOTS
