FINALLY. Pawtucket busts out 6-1 and rides a 6 game winning streak into next week. We changed our manager this week and looks like we got the response I've been waiting for. He's shows positive to just about every hitter. I was hoping coaches weren't this important in the game, but you have to start to wonder.

      Sorry Shark....Karma.

This is the best, average team I’ve ever seen. There’s nothing that really impressed me with this squad, except for the ability to win games. I’m not sure how we keep winning but we are. Kelly has been really good, O’Hearn has been a stud, and Corr is playing (slightly) above replacement level. It’s a good mix. Let’s hold the fort until some reinforcements are ready. Those reinforcements are

Nolan Rushin- acquired last draft from Cali, the bat is league average but the defense is awesome at SS. He’s going to make his debut at some point when we switch over to lock down the glove side.

Ron Snider- acquired from Carolina. started really slow, but the power seems to be developing nicely. Not sure if his position is 3B but if that bat keeps coming along then we’re in business.

Jimmy Dow - acquired from wilmington. It’s been a bit of a slow start but this year he’s been awesome in AA. He’s due for a promotion later this month.

A lot to be excited about in the future with guys like these, Bushnell, Koberle, Zamora, Krantz getting ready to contribute soon. We should be able to navigate these next few years with a lower payroll and fix the deficit as long as we make the tough moves to get rid of some really good players but keep the ball rolling.

Zhang has been a nice lightning in the bottle move. Really cool how failed starters or aging vets become pretty dam good bullpen guys in this league. Use to be expensive front line pure closers since birth. Still the case I suppose, but finding a cheap starter is so much more financially efficient.

The plus on him is the fact that even when he sucked, the reports had him as a key piece of the team in the locker room. Now that he’s having success, I’m honestly willing to bet that he’s one of the key guys in the locker room.

3-3 for the Bats. I'll take it since we were on the road all week and we're going to come back to Earth at some point.

There wasn't much happening for us at the plate this week, really only Roseboom and Yonke showed any ability to hit. We got shut out twice, but hopefully this is our annual trip to Windy City where we look terrible and we've gotten that out of the way. Not sure why they're starting Dave Teel in back to back games, but I appreciate getting at least one win there.

Pitching was still good. Just have to find a way to get under Denver in hits allowed to sweep 1st in all categories. Somehow JP Lawrence won Pitcher of the Month. I have to take a look at my bullpen management, not sure why we're leaving Frank Rico in for 3+ innings to see him give up a walk off grand slam when the rest of the bullpen is fresh.

4-2 sim which is great- should have been 5-1 but the bullpen blew a game to Seattle. However lost Victor Romero to injury. Really a MASH unit on offense with the injuries. After June 15th I'm gonna be calling up Dave Davis and Jonathan Vallenti, both potential cornerstones of this team going forward. Gonna be hard to fill in for Victor Romero but we will find someone. Tom Lyon comes back from injury soon which will help.

Looking forward to the rookies getting entered into the game...as always.

(4-2) Seattle; 1-2 vs. New York, 3-0 vs. Batavia

SP Willie Fajardo made his debut striking out nine in 5.2 innings but he did give up two homers. His addition, along with the FA signing of Pat Goldsmith, gives us our best rotation since 2017, or maybe ever. The positional strength ranks us 5th and if these two can stay healthy, this should be a major strength. The bullpen is another story...

2B Colin Niebauer is hot. The 24-year-old 2B has played poorly all of last season and after a poor ST/April, he has been great in May/June. I signed veteran lefties C Norm Deiwart and OF T.J. Scott recently and they will shake off the rust in the minors. They could be huge for us in the 2nd half.

We hit 11 HR this week (good) but only managed 22 Runs overall (not so good). Need a better ratio than that.

Now that June is here we'll be taking a close look at minor league shakeups in anticipation of the draftees. A few guys down at A ball look more than ready for the next step.

Sadly we are going to waste Healey thanks to some bad picks in the 2010s.

In the IL wildcard race I'd say you have a better then 50% chance. #1 seeds in each division seem mortally locked as Wash & Phoenix this whole decade.

Hot Rod Sedivec raised his batting average to .396 for the season. He has 4.3 WAR in 50 games. This is fucking crazy. I haven't had a guy do this since young Doorbell forty fucking years ago.
